• been used since the Bronze Age to dye skin (including body art),
hair, fingernails, leather, silk and wool.

• in several parts of the world it is traditionally used in various
festivals and celebrations.



•there is mention of henna as a hair dye in Indian court records around
400 CE, in Rome during the Roman Empire, and in Spain during
Convivencia. It was listed in the medical texts of the Ebers Papyrus
(16th c BCE Egypt) and by Ibn Qayyim al-Jawziyya (14th c CE (Syria
and Egypt) as a medicinal herb. In Morocco, wool is dyed and
ornamented with henna, as are drumheads and other leather goods.

汉娜，也译作“海娜”，又名散沫花，是千屈菜科，指甲花属的一种植物。汉娜有很多种用
途，最普遍的用法就是用来做为头发、皮肤与指甲的染色剂；也可以做为布匹与皮革的染料
及防腐剂；汉娜也有抗真菌的作用，可以做为药草使用。印度在公元四百年左右的法院案卷、
罗马帝国时期的罗马、西班牙的Convivienca时期，都有使用汉娜做为染发剂的记录。



Henna has been used to adorn young women's bodies as part of social
and holiday celebrations since the late Bronze Age in the eastern
Mediterranean. Henna also acts as an anti-fungal and a preservative
for leather and cloth. Henna was regarded as having "Barakah,"
blessings, and was applied for luck as well as joy and beauty.

传统汉娜人体艺术——在社会活动和节日庆典上运用汉娜来美化身体始于青铜时
代晚期的地中海东部。最早的文献提到把汉娜运用在婚姻和生育的庆祝活动源于
乌加里特传说巴力和亚，其中记载了女人们在准备迎接她们丈夫的时候会使用汉
娜来装饰自己。汉娜也有抗真菌的作用，可以做为药草使用。汉娜被认为具有
“barakah”，意为“祝福”的吉祥含义，也象征运气、快乐和美丽。



在我国汉娜的运用历史始于公元304年。我国汉代（晋）稽含在
《南方草木状》一书中称其为散沫花，在1946年版《维吾尔医常用
药材》中也对其进行了详细解说。汉娜花是一种化妆品原料，它的
叶子含着色成份，可以染发、皮肤、纹身，近几年来也有人将其用
作染料，对织物、纺织品进行染色研究。




属于天然产物的汉娜花成份复杂，含有香豆素类、醌类、黄酮类等多种化学
成份，并具有较强的生理活性，因此在很多地区也作为一种药用植物使用。

• 汉娜性温，是祛风、活血、美容的佳品。汉娜不仅具有美容美发作用，对抑
制头皮屑、坚固发根、防止脱发、断发及过早出现白发等也有特效。

• 对伤口抵制细菌侵袭很有效——把汉娜花磨成粉末并涂于患处，伤口能很快
就能愈合，尤其是对防止手、脚皮肤开裂、出汗有显著作用。

• 汉娜还有驱热，镇痛、祛风湿等作用。




*People, including Infants and children with glucose-6-phosphate
dehydrogenase deficiency (G6PD deficiency) cannot receive any
form of henna tattoo.
"Neutral henna"
So-called "neutral henna" does not change the color of hair. This
is not henna powder; it is usually the powder of the plant Senna
italica also known as Cassia obovata or a closely related Cassia
species.




"Black henna"
So-called "black henna" powder may be derived from indigo (from
the plant Indigofera tinctoria). It may also contain unlisted dyes
and chemicals. "Black henna" may contain para-
phenylenediamine (PPD), which can stain skin black quickly, but
can cause severe allergic reactions and permanent scarring.



*过敏反应
天然的汉娜通常不会引起使用者的过敏反应，然而患有蚕豆症是一种遗传性的疾病，有蚕豆症的
人不可以使用汉娜，因为指甲花醌会使蚕豆症患者产生溶血反应。对有蚕豆症的儿童，大量的使
用汉娜涂抹在头皮、手掌或脚底等，会引起严重的溶血危象，并可能危及患者的生命。

“中性汉娜膏”——所谓的“中性汉娜”并不能改变头发的颜色。这种染膏并非真正的汉娜粉末，它通
常是由番泻叶（又名草决明品种或近桂皮品种植物）的粉末制成的。

“黑色汉娜膏”——所谓的“黑色汉娜膏”来自靛蓝（一种从植物上提取的深蓝色）或含有未标注的染
料和化学品。市面上的“黑色汉娜膏”通常可能含有对人体有害的一苯二胺（添加剂），虽可迅速染
黑皮肤，但却可引起严重的过敏反应和永久的疤痕。使用“黑色汉娜膏”最常见的严重后果是可以导
致人体质敏感化。也就是说，如果一个人在接受了“黑色汉娜膏”纹身后，将来在接受其它化学染发
剂染发，其皮肤就会立刻产生过敏反应，严重的甚至可能危及生命，需要住院治疗。

studio has more than 15 years’ painting experience.
She learnt Chinese painting during her childhood,
and followed by the study of western watercolor.
Fascinated by the exquisite sophistication of henna
tattoo, she was trained by the famous Indian henna
tattoo artist – padmini verma while she was living
and studying abroad.

梵天手绘顾问艺术家artemis幼年学习中国国画，后学习
西洋水彩画，画龄超过15年。在海外生活和学习期间对
