Hospitals rely on targeted communication systems like AtHoc's Healthcare Alerts to effectively respond to emergencies by notifying only the relevant staff. The system allows operators to quickly send alerts to pre-defined response teams for different emergency scenarios from a mobile app or desktop. This ensures the right medical personnel are notified and can confirm their response without alarming others. AtHoc helps hospitals direct responders and know who is responding to evolving situations.

Assessing the skills and competencies among principals in telecommunication c...csandit
The main objective of the present study was to identify the required skills and competences for
the managers of Telecom Company of the city of Ilam from the employee's perspective. The
research method was descriptive-survey, and the participants were the staff of Ilam Telecom
Company. 190 participants were selected randomly. The results of t-test and one the way
ANOVA at the level of 0.05, and 95% confidence level showed that there is no significant
difference between academic discipline and cognitive skills. There was a significant difference
between gender and the three skills. There is no significant difference between experience and
conceptual skills. Management competence was obtained based on the t-test and analysis of
variance of these results. There was significant difference between gender and level of the
managerial competence. There was a significant difference between the field of the study and
the level of the managerial competence. And finally, between level of education and level of the
conceptual competence, there was no significant difference

Lives are lost and pain inflicted on families as we fail to act in a proper manner in case of emergency situation and help does not reach on time. We are not trained to handle an emergency situation and natural response in case of an unfortunate emergency condition is state of shock and panic.
Six Steps to Managing an Infection Control BreachHealth Catalyst
Despite widespread efforts to improve patient safety, infection control breaches still happen at an alarming rate. In order to improve patient safety and prevent infections, healthcare organizations need to have infection control procedures in place and regularly assess protocols and adherence to these policies. In the case of an infection control breach, organizations need to be prepared to act quickly and follow a six-step evaluation procedure outlined by the CDC:
1. Identify the infection control breach.
2. Gather additional data.
3. Notify and involve key stakeholders.
4. Perform a qualitative assessment.
5. Make decisions about patient notification and testing.
6. Handle communications and logistical issues.
Trauma activation fees are on the rise across the nation with some hospitals surpassing $30,000 in fees. Sound outrageous? It is. This fee is activated when a "trauma alert" or similar is noted by the responding emergency team to the hospital where they will be taking the wounded. The alert triggers a series of events that hospitals are now using to justify staggering charges before you set foot in the door. Learn more in this informative document.

Why Care Management Systems are Essential for Efficient Healthcare Delivery?.pdfmagePoint
Care Management System is one such technology that emerged relatively recently but has established itself as essential to delivering the best experience. The idea is to fulfill the moral and legal obligation to ensure that everyone associated with the establishment, whether employee, volunteer, student, tradesperson visitor, or resident, is fully protected from any personal, physical, and/or emotional harm, either on the premises or when engaged in activities relating to the establishment.

What’s the Right Rx for Healthcare Alerts?
Written by Malcolm Carson, Sr. Business Development Manager
Created: May 28, 2015
Hospitals have a constant need to communicate with their staff because of the never-ending
emergencies within the care environment. In the past, they've often relied on the "scream and hope"
method of communicating via public address systems, pagers and telephone calls. Problem is, this
notifies too many people and we are not sure who is responding. That's the idea behind AtHoc’s
Healthcare Alerts, designed to ensure the safety and awareness of healthcare personnel.
Healthcare Alerts provide targeted notifications to all personnel who need to be informed of a critical
event and a mechanism for them to respond to the alert from a desktop pop-up, telephone call, text
message, email or AtHoc’s mobile app. These alerts can be sent to thousands or a team of only a few.
Let's walk through a couple of typical examples within a hospital.
A cardiac arrest occurs in the intensive care unit. Instead of announcing it over the public address
system – scaring everyone throughout the hospital – the operator simply triggers a scenario in the
AtHoc system, selects the location from a drop-down box and clicks publish. Immediately, a notification
goes out to all members of the arrest response team. The team members acknowledge that they are
responding. The operator sees the responses and knows that help is on the way.
Or, let’s say there is a mass casualty event. Using another preprogrammed scenario, the operator recalls
surgical teams while notifying hospital administers of the situation – all within minutes of the incident.
Using the mobile app, the operator can even pinpoint locations for team members to report. The
incident commanders immediately know who has been notified and their ability to respond.
With AtHoc's Alerts, hospitals can target those to be notified, confidently know who is responding and
direct responders where to report; all without alarming patients, visitors or staff.
Whether it is a medical emergency, natural disaster, weather event, clinical system outage or an
aggressive intruder, AtHoc helps ensure you’ll always be able to target the right people – and only the
right people – while having a firm grasp of the evolving situation using unified communication and
control.
2. This is just one aspect of the healthcare alerting challenge. Truth is, there are a wide variety of other
emergencies that can occur within a healthcare facility – and anywhere else healthcare workers care for
those who need it. Get a comprehensive look at the healthcare crisis communication challenge: read
this brief and engaging article.
