The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in South Africa have increased by 4 966 to 92 681. South Africa has now recorded a total of 1 877 COVID-19 related deaths.
As of today, a cumulative total of 224 665 confirmed COVID-19 cases in South Africa have been reported. Gauteng Province has now overtaken Western Cape as the province with the
highest numbers of cases cumulatively.
50 confirmed cases of the coronavirus (COVID-19) in South Africa are unaccounted for as the country records 11 233 new confirmed cases, bringing the total cases to 445 433. Gauteng still accounts for the highest number of cases provincially with 160 154 confirmed cases, accounting for 36% of the country’s total cases.

Regrettably, we report a further 399 COVID-19 related deaths: Eastern Cape 85, Free State 11, Gaut-
eng 69, Kwa-Zulu Natal 96, Limpopo 5, Mpumalanga 15, Northern Cape 12 and Western Cape 106 .
This brings the total deaths to 32 824.
We convey our condolences to the loved ones of the departed and thank the health care workers who
treated the deceased.
Our recoveries now stand at 956 712, representing a recovery rate of 78,9%
