The story is about a hare who often laughs and thinks he is brave and smart. He meets a mouse in the woods who wants to be friends, but the hare laughs at the mouse and tells her to go away. Later, the mouse sees a hungry owl who wants to eat the hare. The mouse warns the hare, allowing him to escape.
