2. The Need
• Christians have been mandated to teach their children in righteousness
yet the public school system has forbidden the acknowledgement of
Christ and many Christian schools are not cost effective for working
parents.
• Christian parents committed to training their children in the way they
should go face a dilemma of not having enough options for providing a
quality affordable Christian education.

3. The Opportunity
• Support Christian parents by providing a viable option for a Christian
education through Hayward Christian Academy, a private independent
Christian school.
• Hayward Christian Academy (HCA) will provide full-time instruction
with a full complement of subjects at the elementary, middle, or high
school level.

4. Solution
• Who I am
• I am a Christian and a parent who identifies with this dilemma. Having homeschooled
for years, I understand the importance of having options as a Christian parent.
• Goals
• My goal is to serve Christian families like mine that want to ensure that their children are
receiving an education that honors Christ.
• Service provided
• Hayward Christian Academy will be an independent private Christian school. It will
follow a multi-age, one room school model with no more than 20 students.
• Staff
• There will be at least two teachers. I will administrate the operations of the school and
parents will be required to volunteer to facilitate various school roles/functions.
• Program
• Our K-12 curriculum will be the fully accredited Abeka curriculum.

5. Proposal
• We propose that Glad Tidings could lease unused classroom space on a
monthly basis with an occupancy of 25 (there will be no more the 20
students). Lease could include access to bathrooms, equipment
(computers, copier, Wi-Fi…) kitchen/food prep, outside park area…
etc…as agreed.
• As lessor only, Glad Tidings will not be responsible for any
operational/administrative functions of the school outside of the space
and provisions provided in the lease.
• The mission of the school is both religious and educational therefore
consistent with the purpose of the church.
• Full operations outline to follow…

6. Private School Requirements
• Private schools function outside the jurisdiction of the California Department
of Education (CDE) and most state education regulations. Private schools do
not participate in California’s educational accountability system and are directly
accountable to students and their parents or guardians, based on the terms of
the private school enrollment contract.
• Accreditation is optional. (Our program will be accredited)
• Registration is mandatory. (We will register)
• No requirements for Licensing.
• Approval is optional.
