The science of DNA

            Imagine:
We’re at the scene of a crime.
The police haven’t got a lot of
   evidence. They’ve got one
 small hair from the criminal’s
    head. But with that hair,
they’ve got a lot of information
about the criminal – thanks to
      the science of DNA.
Every person on this planet has
got DNA in their body. And every
     person’s DNA is different.
Scientists can look at one hair
from a person’s head and say, for
             example:
       •The person is a man.
    •He hasn’t got brown eyes.
     •He hasn’t got black hair.
  Thanks to the scientists, we’ve
got a picture of the criminal!
The police haven’t got a lot of
             evidence.

They’ve got a hair from the criminal’s
                head.

     The criminal isn’t a woman.

The criminal hasn’t got green eyes.

The criminal hasn’t got brown hair.

We haven’t got a picture of the
            scientists.
Have you got green eyes?
 Yes, I’ve got green eyes.
  She has got long hair.
   We’ve got short hair.
  My dog’s got big ears.
 They have got black hair.
  I haven’t got big eyes.
  Has he got blue eyes?
No,he hasn’t got blue eyes.
  You’ve got blond hair.
