Harvesting is the process of collecting the mature rice crop from the field which involves cutting the panicles and straw, field drying the cut crop exposed to sun, hauling the cut crop to the threshing location, optional stacking/piling before threshing, threshing to separate grain from crop, cleaning to remove non-grain materials, and bagging the rice grains to protect from pests, elements and disease.
