CODE OF DISCIPLINE
 All bonafide students in the exercise of their rights and in the
performance of their duties, must constantly conduct themselves
in line with principles, traditions and ideals of the society.
 When a student enrolls in SJIDI, and is accepted, a contract is
established whereby he/she submits himself/herself and agrees
to comply with all rules and regulations of the institution. Upon
enrollment, he/she assumes all responsibilities, appertaining to
his/her status as a student and in his/her relation with the
administration, faculty, staff, and other students.
 Discipline, both personal and social, establishes harmony in the
campus as it balances freedom of action with self-restraint to
safeguard the rights and responsibilities of the administration,
faculty, and the entire community.
 SJIDI adheres to the principle of “loco parentis” or
secondary parental authority. Nevertheless, the
parents/guardians retain the primary continuing duties and
responsibilities reposed on them as stated in P.D. No. 603
and other existing laws.
 In the exercise of loco parentis, the administrators, faculty
members and duly authorized officials of SJIDI shall have
the right and responsibility to apprehend and/or refer any
violation of the Code of Discipline to higher authorities for
appropriate action.
OFF-CAMPUS DISCIPLINE
 To uphold the integrity of the school, protecting at all
times its good name, reputation and ideals.
 To conduct himself/herself with dignity and honor by
following instructions of authorities when doing a
sanctioned activity.
 To participate in religious, social, civic activities and
programs approved by the school.
 To maintain wholesome image by not displaying intimate
actions and improper behavior.
 To refrain from using the school uniform when attending
social functions not in any way related to school activities.
 To ban students in joining beauty pageants with swimwear
competition.
IN-CAMPUS DISCIPLINE
1. To immediately bring to the attention of a teacher,
adviser, guidance counselor/staff any conflict or
misunderstanding with fellow students.
2. To refrain from fighting inside the school as well
as bringing outsiders to assist a fellow student in a
fight against a student or any of the employees
which would inflict physical injuries and causing
destruction to property.
Note: For nos. 1 and 2 above, the students involved in the fight shall be
held responsible for any medical, hospital expenses arising from the
incident and to pay damages for the destroyed properties. This, however,
does not diminish the filing of other charges either administrative or
criminal by the aggrieved student and/or his/her parents thereof.
3. To refrain from using words that are offensive, vulgar, indecent or
blasphemous in nature to any person or institution.
4. To refrain from bringing to school pornographic materials (magazines
or pictures), videos and to refrain from drawing lewd sketches on books,
notebooks, tables, chairs or walls.
5. To wear complete uniform on designated uniform days. The uniform of
the day differs from one school to another.
6.Shorts, mini-skirts, sleeveless blouses, hanging
blouses, blouses with plunging neckline, tattered
pants and other attention-seeking wears are not
allowed.
7.To refrain from smoking inside or outside the
school premises.
8. To refrain from bringing in and/or taking in or
dispensing liquor or any intoxicating beverage or
getting inside the campus under the influence of
the same.
22. To avoid gambling in the campus using any device
or paraphernalia or engaging in betting in any form on
the outcome of any sports activity or other school
program.
23. To refrain from stealing, collecting, extorting
money and/or property from any student, faculty and
personnel or administrator.
24. To avoid falsification and/or tampering of
academic or official school records, signature, marks,
notes and other documents.
25. To refrain from misbehaving/bullying including
verbal, emotional, physical, social and cyber-bullying.
27. To avoid threatening, coercing, intimidating,
compelling, encouraging or convincing a student to
be absent from class to participate in any
unauthorized activity.
28. To refrain from carrying and/or using any
deadly weapon such as but not limited to handgun,
knife, ice pick, brass knuckles , explosives of any
kind and other tools which may be used to inflict
harm to others.
DETERMINATION OF SANCTIONS FOR
MINOR OFFENSES
1. On Unexcused Absences and Use of Improper
and/or Incomplete Uniform
• First Offense - Verbal warning (c/o Adviser)
• Second Offense - Conference with Parents and
Written Warning
• Third Offense - 1 day working suspension
2. On Tardiness same as 1
3. Determination of Tardiness
• If the student report to school beyond 7:30 am,
he/she is considered “Tardy”.
• If the student report to school beyond 1:00 pm,
he/she is considered “Tardy”.

Warning with counseling.
• Second Offense - Conference with Parents and
3 days Suspension with counseling.

OTHER MAJOR OFFENSES
 Offenses committed but which are not listed herein will
be subject to classification by the DISCOM. The
DISCOM may propose other measures upon erring
students to commensurate with the nature and gravity of
the violation. The penalty will be based on the facts and
circumstances surrounding the case.
CATEGORIES OF DISCIPLINARY ACTION
According to DepEd and the Manual of Regulations for
Private School (MRPS), the three categories of
disciplinary action which may be imposed on erring
students and which should commensurate to the nature
and gravity of violation of school rules and regulations
are the following:
• DROPPING. A school may drop from its rolls
during the term a student found after due investigation,
to have violated the rules and regulations of the school,
of DepEd and the laws of the land. The student who is
dropped should be issued immediately his credentials.
• SUSPENSION. The school may bar an erring student
during the school year for a maximum period of not
exceeding 20% of which involves the loss of the entire year.
Suspension means that the student is barred from entering
the school campus during the suspension period.
• EXPULSION. The penalty of expulsion is an extreme
form of administrative sanction which debars the student
from all public and private schools. To be valid the penalty
of expulsion requires approval by DepEd.

student found at the billiard places or in any gambling

3rd offense - dismissal
7. Theft Sanction: (Frustrated Consummated)
Sanction: 1st offense – suspension for 3 days with work;
2nd offense - suspension for 5 days with work; and
3rd offense – dismissal
8. Forging, alteration, falsification of school documents
Sanction: 1st offense - suspension for 3 days with work;
2nd offense- suspension for 5 days; and
3rd offense - dismissal / expulsion depending on the
gravity of the offense
9. Cheating during Examinations
a. Quizzes
Sanction: 1st offense - invalidation of
scores;
2nd offense - invalidation of scores
suspension for 5 days with work; and
3rd offense - dismissal
b. Periodical Test
Sanction: 1st offense - invalidation of scores;
2nd offense - invalidation of scores suspension
for 5 days with work; and
3rd offense - dismissal
Note: HONOR STUDENTS who are caught cheating
during examinations are automatically disqualified
for honor ranking for the curriculum year as per
DepEd Order disqualified No. 6 s. 2005.
10. Illegal possession of firearms/fireworks, explosive
and other weapons
Sanction: 1st offense - suspension for5 days with
work;
2nd offense - dismissal
11. Smoking in the classrooms and inside the school
campus
1st offense - suspension for 3 days with work;
2nd offense - suspension for 5 days with work;

3rd offense – dismissal
12. Sexual Harassment which covers unwanted sexual
advances
Sanction: 1st offense - suspension for 5 days with work;

13. Vandalism or destruction of school properties
Sanction: 1st offense - suspension for 5 days with work;

14. Illegal use, possession or distribution of narcotics or
dangerous drugs
Sanction: 1st offense - suspension for 3 days with work;
2nd offense - suspension for 5 days with work; and
3rd offense – dismissal
15. Going outside the school campus without permission
Sanction: 1st offense - warning;
2nd offense - suspension for 3 days with work; and
3rd offense - suspension for 5 days with work.
16. Wearing / using earrings among boys, dangling earrings among
girls
Sanction: 1st offense - confiscation of items accompanied with
warning & reprimand; and
2nd offense-Parents are called to the Guidance Office
17. Use of cellphones, video games, i-pod, mp3, mp4, and other
related devices are not allowed during class hours.
Sanctions: 1st offense – confiscation of items accompanied with
warning & reprimand; and
2nd offense – Sent to the Guidance Office
3rd offense – Punished
• Charging of cellphones and cameras in school are
prohibited.
18. Dyeing of hair among all students & using make-
up/lipstick among girls
Sanctions: 1st offense - warning & reprimand (to put back
the usual color of the hair and top wash/wipe away
make up and lipstick); and
2nd offense - A student is not allowed to enter the
school campus unless the hair is put back to the usual color
& face and lips with no makeup.
Good Grooming
Students are expected to be simple in coming to school.
As a growing young boy or girl, every student must be
neat in appearance. Neatness and simplicity are marks of
a well-bred adolescent.
A.Male students must observe proper haircut. Hair must
be cut according to the recommendation of the
administration.
B.Operation haircut for boys is scheduled every first
Monday of the month.
C.Long hair of girls should be tied or in pony tail.
19. Fraternity or sororities are not recognized by the
school
a. Membership
Sanction: 1st offense - warning;
2nd offense - suspension for 3 days with work;
and
3rd offense - dismissal.
b. Hazing
Sanction: 1st and final offense - dismissal
20. Disobeying the rules and regulations of the school
including the content of this student’s manual
Sanction: 1st offense - suspension for 3 days with
work;
2nd offense - suspension for 5 days with work;
and
3rd offense – dismissal
21. Whoever is caught buy/ordering snacks over the
fence is fined Php 50.00
INSIDE THE CAMPUS
1. The front gate shall be wed for entrance and exit and never
through de fences.
2. A student must contribute of higher best ability in
maintaining cleanliness and beautification of the school.
3. During the flag ceremony, students shall give respect to the
flag by standing at attention, join the singing of the national
anthem and recite the pledge of allegiance and prayers for the
country
4. Students shall proceed right away to their
respective classrooms after the flag
ceremony.
5. Always keep right in going up and down
the stairways so that students can also pass.
Always give preference to teachers, school
personnel, and visitors in the use of
stairways.
6. Parents or visitors who may want to see any student
should first pass by the office of the principal and
signify their intention for the visit.
7. Permission shall be secured from the principal or the
advisers if outsiders are brought inside the school
campus.
8. Permission or gate pass should the campus be secured
during from class hours the class adviser or principal
when one goes off.
9. Nobody is allowed to stay in the guardhouse
except the guards on duty.
10. The school day begins with the Flag
Ceremony. Flag Ceremony is held every Monday
or first class day of the week at 7:15 A.M. On
days when the flag raising is not held, official time
of attendance begins at 7:30 a.m.
INSIDE THE CLASSROOM
1. When him/her teacher enters the classroom,
students are expected to greet
2. To create class a spiritual atmosphere in the
class, students must pray before and after the class
with devotion and full attention.
3. A student to must participates in the class
activities actively, listens affectively to the
answers of others, to discuss logically with
relevance and in spirit of inquiry, discovery and
advocacy.
4. A student shall maintain silence and cleanliness inside
the classroom.
5. A student shall have the necessary instructional materials
ready such as textbook, notebooks, pen, papers, etc. to
profit from the class instructions.
6. A student must stay in his/her proper seat. Otherwise,
he/she will be marked absent.
7. A student who is absent must be responsible for all
lessons/assignments he/she missed.
8. As soon as the class is dismissed after the last period in
the afternoon, students should leave the school.
D. SCHOOL UNIFORMS
1. A student should come to school in his/her clean and
complete uniform.
FOR MALE STUDENTS
Monday/Friday: White polo, black pants or denims, black
shoes with socks
Tuesday/Thursday: T-Shirt with SJIDI logo, jogging pants,
rubber shoes with socks
FOR FEMALESTUDENTS
Monday/Friday:Blouse: gala (short-sleeved),
green skirt, black shoes.
Tuesday/Thursday: T-Shirt with SJIDI logo,
jogging pants, rubber
shoes with socks.
2. The school uniform shall be worn only in school and in
duly authorized school functions. It should not be worn
elsewhere.
3. As long as a student is in school uniform, he/she is
responsible to the school for his/her off-campus behavior.
4. Free day dress shall be worn with modesty and decency.
Wearing of wide yoke, sleeveless, mini dresses and dangling
earrings are prohibited.
5. A student shall not use colored nail polish and hair dye.
These are not appropriate with school uniform. Boys,
likewise, are not allowed to wear earrings inside the school
campus.
SCHOOL ID
1. A student must wear his/her ID with no
stickers attached to it.
2. A student must wear his/her ID card at
all times upon entering the gate of the
school campus. No ID, NO ENTRY
policy.
3. Lost ID shall be reported immediately
to the registrar so that ID card will be
reissued with a corresponding fee.
IN THE CHURCH
1. Keep the house of the Lord a place for worship
and do so with proper decorum and reverence.
2. Be recollected and avoid talking and moving.
3. Participate actively and wholeheartedly during
novenas, masses, and group prayers. Nobody
should go out from the Church until the mass
ends.
4. A student is obliged to attend and be on
time during class masses, first Friday of the
month, Holy Day of obligation and
Eucharistic Celebration on Sundays, first
Friday of the month and during class mass.
5. Greet Jesus in Blessed Sacrament upon
entering and leaving the church by a
reverential genuflection.
B. Attend recollection and Spiritual Retreat
annually.
CONDUCT OUTSIDE THESCHOOL
Students are always identified with the school to
which they belong. They are duly-bound to maintain
the good image of the school by conducting
themselves in a manner befitting a student in a
Catholic school. While outside the school campus,
they should observe generally accepted rules and
conduct and norms of behavior.
1. Uphold the academic integrity of the school,
protecting at all times its name, reputation and ideas.
2. Conduct themselves with dignity and honor
and to abide by all instructions of school
authorities/teachers when representing the
school in any authorized activity. Likewise,
they should conduct themselves in the same
manner when using the name of the school.

AN ACT REQUIRING ALL ELEMENTARY AND
SECONDARY SCHOOLS TO ADOPT POLICIES TO
PREVENT AND ADDRESS THE ACTS OF BULLYING IN
THEIR INSTITUTIONS
 This act shall be known as the “Anti-Bullying Act of
2013”.
 To protect children enrolled in kindergarten, elementary,
and secondary schools and learning centers
(collectively, “Schools”) from being bullied.

GUIDELINES ON THE SUSPENSION OF CLASSES WHEN
TYPHOONS AND OTHER CALAMITIES OCCUR
The revised guidelines on the suspension of classes in cases of
typhoons and other calamities are hereby issued for the
information of all concerned.
Automatic Suspension of Classes
When Signal No. 1 is raised by PAG-ASA, classes at the pre-
school level.
When Signal No. 2 is raised by PAG-ASA, classes at the pre-
school, elementary and secondary levels shall be
automatically suspended in all public and private schools.
Localized suspension of Classes
In the absence of Typhoon signal warnings from PAG-ASA,
localized suspension or cancellation of classes in both public
and private elementary and/or secondary school in specific
divisions may be implemented.
The superintendent shall decide on the suspension of classes
if such covers the entire division. If the suspension is for
specific schools only, the school principal/head shall decide
on the matter.

initiation rites in fraternities and sororities in the country.
 All forms of hazing shall be prohibited in fraternities,
sororities, and organizations in schools, including
citizens' military, etc.
