PROPERTIES OF INTEGERS
*Properties of integers are sets of basic rules that make our calculations much easier.
*Properties of integers have 6 types of property; the 6 types of properties are shown in the following:
1. Associative Property
2. Distributive Property
3. Identity Property
4. Additive Inverse Property
5. Closure Property
6. Commutative Property
*Integers are the combination of
Zero, natural numbers and their additive inverse.
Example of Distributive Property: Example of Additive Property:
3(1 + 5) = 3 + 15 = 18 a + (0) = a
Example of Associative Property: Example of Closure Property:
(2+3)+4 = 2+ (3+4) 7-4 = 3, 7 + (-4) = 3
PROPERTIES OF INTEGERS
Example of Identity Property: Example of Commutative
Property:
a+0=a, a-0=a ax1=a, a divided by 1= a a + b = b + a, a x b = b x a
