3rd Quarter
A Message from Jack
De Pere
Mountain Home
Round Rock
Reynosa
International
The Hamilton Scientific headquarters relocated to De Pere, from Two Rivers, Wisconsin
on March 18, 2013. The new, contemporary office – which features an open floor concept
to encourage collaboration and innovation – is located in one of the city’s 1,400 modern
business parks. Our company headquarters holds responsibility for managing all
business activities under the direction of our Executive Team. Strategic planning, finance,
marketing, communications, IT (information technology) and all corporate policies are
established here.
Nestled in the beautiful Ozark Mountains of North Central Arkansas, the Mountain
Home facility has been at its present location since 1979. At any given time 80 to 140
team members work in the 61,100 sq. ft. facility. The Mountain Home team strives to
meet our commitment to customers and provide the highest quality product quickly
and economically. Made-to-order epoxy resin work surfaces and accessories including
pegboards, balance tables, sinks, outlets and overflows are fabricated in a variety of colors
and sold under the Epoxyn Products brand.
Our Round Rock, Texas location is approximately 20 miles north of Austin, the state capital.
This is the main wood laboratory casework manufacturing site for Hamilton Scientific.
Inside the 177,000 sq ft. facility an efficient manufacturing line provides the industrial
capacity needed to meet or exceed our customers' expectations. The resulting production
helps Round Rock reach the weekly product goal , currently $500,000 and increasing on a
monthly basis.
The International Development Team, led by Bob Zill, includes Hamilton Scientific
employees and representatives located in 20 countries to provide our product and
services in the Asia (including the Middle East and India), Latin America and Canada.
We believe the greatest opportunity for growth is with the international markets,
With the dedication of the entire Hamilton Scientific team we are leading laboratory
furniture and fume hood manufacturing while inspiring progress.
Our employee newsletter is intended to increase company awareness throughout all locations. The goal is to keep employees
informed and have an opportunity to learn more about each other and our respective locations. Hamilton Insight will be
published quarterly for the benefit of all employees! You are invited to provide feedback, submit articles, suggest ideas and
ask questions. Please send your comments and inquiries to newsletter@hamiltonscientific.com.
As we enter the eighth month of forming
Hamilton Scientific, we have experienced
significant successes, identified
opportunities for improvement and
tackled challenges. Like you, I am eager
for Hamilton Scientific to take control of
the top position across the globe. In our
quest, we need to ensure the quickest
lead-times on product delivered complete
and on-time, provide superior quality,
introduce innovative products as pioneers
in technology and, of course, improve
our competitive position. All the while we
continue to strive for superior customer
satisfaction which requires the absolute
dedication and“can-do”attitude of all our
employees and dealers as valuable team
players.
Jack Roberts, President/CEO
We are excited to introduce our first edition of Hamilton Insight!
Established in 2004, the Reynosa, Mexico site experienced a building expansion in 2010
bringing the total building size to 368,000 sq. ft. Of this, 90% consists of manufacturing
space for the production of Hamilton Scientific steel casework, adaptable systems and
fume hoods. On a weekly basis 2,000 casework units, 1,300 MAX adaptable products and
150 fume hoods are produced. According to the McAllen (Texas) Economic Development
Corporation, Reynosa is important to the“strategy of economic growth, investment and
the increase of manufacturing capacity on both sides of the border.”

Just for FUN
Hamilton Scientific has been awarded the George Washington University’s New
Science and Engineering Hall project! Along with our dealer, Dancker, Sellew &
Douglas (DS&D) we will provide the university 2,000 custom lab benches, steel
casework, epoxy resin products and 168 Pioneer fume hoods.
Over the course of
two years, Hamilton
Scientific engineers
worked closely with
the architecture
and engineering
firm, Ballinger of
Philadelphia, to
develop a solution
that will meet the
design criteria for
the new Science &
Engineering Hall.
“Hamilton Scientific was very collaborative in the design process. We worked with
them in a series of meetings to design their tables to work with the goals of the
project and the needs of both teaching and research across a diverse group of
science departments. Hamilton Scientific was an enthusiastic player on the team
working to achieve an appropriate solution to the problem.”

Taking personal responsibility for safety
One key to an ideal safety culture that drastically
reduces injuries is for everyone to take
responsibility for safety.
You take responsibility for the safety of others
through reporting near misses and minor injuries,
indentifying hazards formally, and coaching peers
when anyone sees behaviors that put workers at
risk. You also take responsibility for the safety of
others when you give safety talks at meetings, join
safety committees, and praise each other for safe
practices. You take responsibility for the safety of
others when you actively participate in the safety
culture.
“It is quite probable that I, personally, have had
an incident that happened in my own work area
that I was too embarrassed, scared, or thought
too little of to report. And, because I didn’t report
it or just told a friend about it… I did not do my
part to build our safety culture into one where
reporting is what we do, what we value, and what
we expect.”
Do your part. Take responsibility for your safety
culture. (Tim Ludwig, Ph.D, Safety-Doc.com, 2013)

Trivia Time
Customer Service
How may we better serve our customers?
Don’t make promises unless you will keep
them. (Not that you plan to keep them, but
you will keep them.) Reliability is a key to
building exceptional customer relationships.
For example, whether you are communicating
ship dates, appointments or deadlines –
always keep your word, without finding an
excuse for why the promise wasn’t kept.
Promises build trust, understanding and
customer loyalty – let’s give our customers
more than they expect and set ourselves
apart from our competition!

Healthy Lifestyles
Healthy Heart, Healthy You
Why Blood Pressure Matters for your Heart
Your blood pressure numbers are a measure of the force of your blood
against your artery walls. The first or top number (systolic pressure) is when
your heart is beating. The second or bottom number (diastolic pressure) is
between beats, when your heart is at rest.
If that force is too strong for too long it can harm your heart. It can also
damage other organs and blood vessels throughout your body. And you’ll
face an increased risk of serious health problems, including heart attack,
stroke, chronic kidney disease and loss of vision. Since high blood pressure
typically has no symptoms, checking it regularly is important.
Treatment for high blood pressure often includes lifestyle changes such as
these:
1. Follow a healthy diet
2. Get regular exercise
3. Cut your salt intake
4. Maintain a healthy weight
5. Manage stress
6. Limit alcohol intake
The key is to discover what works for you. Choose your strategies, take
action and start enjoying the benefits!
Did you know?
Most of us get more than twice the recommended sodium each day – you
may want to consider monitoring your sodium intake and adjusting it as
necessary to ensure you aren’t consuming more than what is considered safe
for your body.

Established in 2004, the Reynosa, Mexico site experienced a building expansion in 2010 bringing the total building size to 368,000 sq. ft. Of this, 90% consists of manufacturing space for the production of Hamilton Scientific steel casework, adaptable systems and fume hoods. On a weekly basis 2,000 casework units, 1,300 MAX adaptable products and 150 fume hoods are produced. According to the McAllen (Texas) Economic Development Corporation, Reynosa is important to the“strategy of economic growth, investment and the increase of manufacturing capacity on both sides of the border.”

Along with our dealer, Dancker, Sellew & Douglas (DS&D) we will provide the university 2,000 custom lab benches, steel casework, epoxy resin products and 168 Pioneer fume hoods. Over the course of two years, Hamilton Scientific engineers worked closely with the architecture and engineering firm, Ballinger of Philadelphia, to develop a solution that will meet the design criteria for the new Science & Engineering Hall. “Hamilton Scientific was very collaborative in the design process. We worked with them in a series of meetings to design their tables to work with the goals of the project and the needs of both teaching and research across a diverse group of science departments. Hamilton Scientific was an enthusiastic player on the team working to achieve an appropriate solution to the problem.” (Laura Carlson, Ballinger Architecture) Recent Win! Thank a Colleague Taking personal responsibility for safety One key to an ideal safety culture that drastically reduces injuries is for everyone to take responsibility for safety. You take responsibility for the safety of others through reporting near misses and minor injuries, indentifying hazards formally, and coaching peers when anyone sees behaviors that put workers at risk. You also take responsibility for the safety of others when you give safety talks at meetings, join safety committees, and praise each other for safe practices. You take responsibility for the safety of others when you actively participate in the safety culture. “It is quite probable that I, personally, have had an incident that happened in my own work area that I was too embarrassed, scared, or thought too little of to report. And, because I didn’t report it or just told a friend about it… I did not do my part to build our safety culture into one where reporting is what we do, what we value, and what we expect.” Do your part. Take responsibility for your safety culture. (Tim Ludwig, Ph.D, Safety-Doc.com, 2013) Check your email from any location by accessing Webmail: https://webmail.hamiltonscientific.com/owa. • 4. Trivia Time Customer Service How may we better serve our customers? Don’t make promises unless you will keep them. (Not that you plan to keep them, but you will keep them.) Reliability is a key to building exceptional customer relationships. For example, whether you are communicating ship dates, appointments or deadlines – always keep your word, without finding an excuse for why the promise wasn’t kept. Promises build trust, understanding and customer loyalty – let’s give our customers more than they expect and set ourselves apart from our competition! The first or top number (systolic pressure) is when your heart is beating. The second or bottom number (diastolic pressure) is between beats, when your heart is at rest. If that force is too strong for too long it can harm your heart. It can also damage other organs and blood vessels throughout your body. And you’ll face an increased risk of serious health problems, including heart attack, stroke, chronic kidney disease and loss of vision. Since high blood pressure typically has no symptoms, checking it regularly is important. Treatment for high blood pressure often includes lifestyle changes such as these: 1. Follow a healthy diet 2. Get regular exercise 3. Cut your salt intake 4. Maintain a healthy weight 5. Manage stress 6. Limit alcohol intake The key is to discover what works for you. Choose your strategies, take action and start enjoying the benefits! Did you know? Most of us get more than twice the recommended sodium each day – you may want to consider monitoring your sodium intake and adjusting it as necessary to ensure you aren’t consuming more than what is considered safe for your body. ¡ How many eyes are there on a pack of 52 cards? ¡ Which is the only mammal that can’t jump? ¡ What was the first man made invention to break the sound barrier? ¡ What year was the Hamilton company originally founded? ¡ What is the name of our founder? ¡ Name one product that Hamilton never manufactured?
