A journey in space and time over the history of Haifa from the end of the 19 th  century until the middle of the 20 th  century It is difficult to travel along the axes of space and time in an orderly manner. This presentation travels along the three spatial axes. The result is a sporadic movement in time.

The photos presented here were collected from a number of sources. They are dated here only if the year in which they were taken is given in the origin. The presentation moves from east to west up to the summit of Stella Maris, with a detour to Hadar Hacarmal. A considerable number of photos of Hamra square can be found in the sources. The reason is probably that this square was the central plaza of old Haifa and itโ€™s main transportation hub. From here horse drawn carriages could be taken to all the edges of the big city. There was no pollution in those happy days. The carriages did not exhaust smoke and the horses were usually well behaved and made efforts not to emit any gases.   • 4. The photos presented here were collected from a number of sources. They are dated here only if the year in which they were taken is given in the origin. The presentation moves from east to west up to the summit of Stella Maris, with a detour to Hadar Hacarmal. A considerable number of photos of Hamra square can be found in the sources. The reason is probably that this square was the central plaza of old Haifa and itโ€™s main transportation hub. From here horse drawn carriages could be taken to all the edges of the big city. There was no pollution in those happy days. The carriages did not exhaust smoke and the horses were usually well behaved and made efforts not to emit any gases.
