Life Before The War Mr. Gummoe grew up on a farm with thirty cows, 300 chickens, two horses, and a Sheppard Cow dog named Rover. Mr. Gummoe lived with his mother, father, sister, and grandparents. Mr. Gummoe lived a half a mile away from the school and he had to walk to school every day.
Life During War Mr. Gummoe was sent off to Lehigh University in Bethlehem, PA. While Mr. Gummoe was studying to become an engineering officer, the allies invaded Europe. Mr. Gummoe was sent to the 89 th  infantry division at camp Butner N.C.
Life During War (cont.) From the 89 th  infantry division Mr. Gummoe was sent to General Patton’s third army. When Mr. Gummoe was on the border of   Germany and Czechoslovakia he came into an encounter with the Russian army troops. Mr. Gummoe drove a Jeep for the U.S. army in a sharp shooters squad of six people.
Life During War (cont.) Mr. Gummoe spent the next year in Austria in the army of Occupation. In May of 1946 he was discharged from the army. One of his many losses was his camera. He lost in when he was traveling through the woods and his Jeep got towed by the Russian army.
Life During War (cont.) One day Mr. Gummoe was driving his Jeep when he came across one of the largest concentration camps ever. The camp consisted of over 6,000 people. While Mr. Gummoe was going through the camp he came across a American Solider who was still in his uniform.
Life After War After the war Mr. Gummoe went back to school to finish studying engineering. After Mr. Gummoe graduated he went and worked on tractors.  http://bowlingcrew.com/professional_bowling.htm
Life After War (cont.) Mr. Gummoe loves to bowl, but after attempting to ski he hurt his knee and had to get replaced. After his knee was replaced he could not bowl anymore. Now Mr. Gummoe loves to travel. He has been to Florida and Canada.
Final Thoughts In the end Mr. Gummoe would totally fight in the war all over again. Even though Mr. Gummoe fought in the war he still finds compassion for people today. http://www.eyehook.com/free/love.html
