2. To log in to your Toutiao publisher
account, hover over 头条产品 (Toutiao
Product). Select 头条号 from the drop-
down menu and click on it.

3. On Chinese websites, the 注册
(Register) button is always
located on the left. Now click
on it.

4. Enter your phone number to
sign up with your phone.
You’ll receive an SMS with
verification code. Enter it
below and click the red
button.

5. If you want to register with
your email address, click on
邮件注册 .

6. Now fill in your phone
number and verification code
you will receive by SMS.

8. Account name (2-10 words)

14. Upload a scanned copy of
your business license in
image format (PDF not
supported). Maximum file

the confirmation letter.

17. Just like the verification for Weibo,
WeChat, and other major
platforms, Toutiao gives us a
Word document. Fill out your
company name, website, and a
Toutiao account name as you just
filled in. Then fill in a person
responsible for managing this
account and their ID. Add a
company seal, date, and your
signature.

mandatory.

to log into Toutiao’s mobile

toutiao” will result in nothing.

26. Enter 今日头条 in the search
bar and select the first one.

27. You can make sure you get
the correct version by
looking at the app developer
name. The correct app
should be released by Beijing
Bytedance Technology Cp.,

28. Open the app. Log in with the
phone you just registered
with. Enter the phone number
and a verification code will be
sent.

29. If your phone is not around,
click here to log in using a
password.

30. Log in with your phone and
password.

31. If you registered with your email
too, you can choose to log in here.

32. Once logged in click on
我的(Mine) to finish the
ID verification.

33. The little badge here shows
that we are registered as a
Toutiaohao user.

34. This is where you need to go
now.

35. After you take a photo of
both the front and back of
your ID card, a face
recognition will require you
to read 4 digits to prove
that you are an actual
person. You need to:
- Make sure the
environment is quiet;
- Show your head
completely;
- Read the numbers in
Mandarin Chinese;
- Take a video for 3-6
seconds.

36. You need to remember all four
digits. They won’t be shown
while you’re recording the
video. Tap on the red button
to start recording.

37. Finally, verification is done!
Toutiao will let you know
whether your application have
been successful within one
working day. Usually it takes
only 5 mins, especially when
you submit all the required
documents.

38. Back to your computer. Now
you’re ready to start the
Toutiaohao journey!
