1. How to do DLT registration on AirTel?
To send the business SMS or Bulk SMS in India, you need to register on the DLT
platform. Airtel is a telecom operator that offers you to register your Business entity
on its panel. There are several platforms for DLT registration, all the panels are
synced with each other. So you need to register for DLT only on one platform. Here
we will discuss the Airtel DLT panel.
According to Telecom Regulatory of India, DLT registration is mandatory in India.
Businesses won't be allowed to send business/ promotional SMS until DLT is done.

What is Airtel DLT registration?
Airtel DLT registration refers to the process of registering your mobile number with
Airtel's Distributed Ledger Technology (DLT) platform, which is mandated by the
Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) as per its new regulations to curb
spam and fraudulent SMS/calls.
To register for Airtel DLT, you need to follow these steps:
1. Visit Airtel's official website for DLT registration: https://dltconnect.airtel.in
2. Enter your details such as name, mobile number, email address, and select
the type of entity you are registering for (Individual, Company, or Association).
3. Click on the "Submit" button.
4. You will receive an OTP (One Time Password) on your registered mobile
number. Enter the OTP in the designated field.
5. Once you submit the OTP, you will be redirected to a page where you can
select your preferences for receiving promotional messages/calls.
6. Select your preferences and click on the "Submit" button.
7. Your Airtel DLT registration process will be complete.
It is important to note that failure to register for DLT with Airtel may result in the
blocking of your mobile number for promotional SMS/calls. Therefore, it is advisable
to complete the registration process as soon as possible to avoid any inconvenience.
Airtel DLT Registration: Document Required
The DLT registration on Airtel portal required the following documents.
 Business/Company PAN card
 GST/TAN/FSSAI/memorandum of association/incorporation/shop registration
certificate
 Govt. Identity document: PAN/DL/Voter ID/Aadhar of the authorized person
 Email address and Phone number. We recommend the active email and
mobile number, OTP will be passed on given mobile number and email
address.
 A letter of authorization LOA, declaration of the authorized person on the
company letterhead. Signed and sealed by the company director.

2. DLT Registration was at no cost but now it charges RS. 5000+18% GST.
Before you start the signup process, make sure you have a soft copy of each
document with significant visuals for photo IDs and address proof as well as file
format does not exceed the 10 MB in size. Once you have all the soft copy of the
document ready, you can start to register.
Lets understand the process in detail on the Airtel DLT platform. We will cover all the
details of submission and parameters.
A guide to Airtel DLT registration process on portal
Open the AirTel DLT portal on your laptop browser at https://dltconnect.airtel.in/ and
click on the signup Button.
There are two options to select.
 Enterprise: for Company that will send SMS
 Telemarketer: for SMS service providers who want to register for a
telemarketer ID.
 Business or company must choose the Enterprise. Click to the Next.

3. A pop up window will open that will guide the service for communication with
customers through SMS and voice. Click on ‘Yes’.
The next page will ask you about registration type
 New Registration
 Registered with another mobile operator.
“Have you registered with any other mobile operator DLT network?”

4. Choose “yes” if you have already registered with another mobile operator. And enter
the Entity ID you received with previous registration. Click on Verify & Continue.
Choose “No” for the fresh DLT registration and then enter the company PAN
number. Click on Verify & Continue.
In the next page,
 Select the type of business from the dropdown.
 Enter the name of the business.
 Enter an active business email address.
 Create and write a unique password and confirm password.
 Remember your credentials for future logins.
 Recheck all the filled details and click “Continue”

5.  A new pop window will open “Enter One Time Password “.
 Enter the One Time Password received on your given mobile number and
click “Verify”.
 A system generated verification link will be sent on the given email address.
You need to verify the link by clicking on it to complete the verification
process.

6. Once you click on the link verification, it will redirect to the login page from the start
with a green notification of verification as You have already activated your account.
A login window will appear
 Enter the email address and password credentials
 Click on the “Login” button.

7. An OTP will be sent to the registered mobile number. Please enter the OTP and click
"Verify".
The next page will display the business related information. Fill every detail
according to the document figures.
 Select the type of business, must choose the same as selected during the
signup process.
 Enter the PAN Number details.
 Enter the business name according to the document.
 Write alternative active email address.
 Write the details of the name (Company director).

8.  Write the business address, same as in the documents.
 Choose “Yes” if you have a Business GST certificate. Enter the GST number
details and upload the soft copy. Choose “No” if you do not have a GST
number.
 Fill the active business number.
In the next section, you need to upload the soft copy of documents

9.  Proof of business entity.
 Proof of business address.
 Enter the CAF number(optional)- a unique nine-digit identification number and
is assigned the first time you file a third party authorization with govt
organisation.
 Service Agreement(optional) - Download format, fill the details, the upload
with signatory.
 Proof of authorisation.
Upload the soft copy of the PAN card. Be careful about the details like photo, PAN
number is clearly visible in the copy you upload. The maximum file size allowed is
10MB.
Upload a soft copy of the address proof document. Select the type of document, and
a number of options are available. We recommend you to upload a govt assigned
document of address proof.

10. CAF - fill the CAF number. This is optional to fill. Once you fill the number, upload a
soft copy of the relative document. Click “Continue”.
Service Agreement (optional)- We recommend you to download the agreement
template. Read it carefully. Follow the instructions, and after a signatory should
upload it.

11. Proof of authorized signatory
 Write a Letter of authorization on the company letterhead page(Download the
format of LOA). Complete the signatory by director and authorized person
signatory.
 Upload the soft copy.

12. Before clicking to the “Next” be sure that you have uploaded the correct document
with complete visible details. We recommend you fill in each optional detail if
possible. It will increase the possibility of approval.
Note: given email address and phone number should be in active mode, if the DLT
registrar got stuck in any document, you may receive a call on the same number.
This was all for the DLT registration for the entity ID. You will receive the email for

Message Content template Registration
After the successful DLT registration, you will not be ready to start the SMS
messaging service. You need to register the Sender ID and message content
template.
You need to register for the message template business is gonna send to the

What is Content Template?
A message content template is a pre-designed format or structure for the text of a
message. It includes placeholders(variable- {#var#}) for key information that needs to
be included in the message, such as the recipient's name, the sender's name, and
the purpose of the message.
Message content templates are often used in business and marketing
communication to ensure consistency and efficiency in messaging. They can save
time by providing a starting point for message creation and help to ensure that
important information is not overlooked.
As a business, after the DLT registration you need to register for the message
template by following the given below steps.

13. Open the Airtel DLT dashboard with your pre used login credentials.
In the header bar click on the “Template” -> “Content Templates”
Click on the “Add”, a new window page will open.

14. Template Type:
 Promotional
 Transactional
 Service
Select optional according to the type of text message you will send.
If you choose the Service type, you need to choose the next options
 Implicit: The formal message that conveys the business activities. Like
business alert, notification, etc
 Explicit: these are for informal messages that convey irrelative info for staff
like holiday info, birthday, etc.

15. Write the message template name.
Select the message type as text in the field.
Template Message: write the message text with required variables. We recommend
you to copy and paste the message content. Please keep a record for the message
in your local space. It must be exactly the same with no extra space and character. It
will fail the message sending.

16. The content template must include the variables for the significant messaging with
name, dates, number you include in the text.
"Save” the message template and submit it for approval.
Note: the message template must include the company name to increase the chance
of success.
The content template approval is a one by one manual process for DLT registrar
members. It could take up to 2 days for max. In between you can check the status
that will turn “pending” to “approved”.
