Editor's Notes

  1. Cookie incentives are an excellent way to get girls energized about the cookie sale. You might surprised how committed and determined girls become when they have a goal. In this section we’ll cover the definition of cookie incentives and proceeds, the troop and girl role, the parent role, and the initial and final order submissions.
  2. Proceeds is the word used in Girl Scouts for the cash received for their each box of cookies sold. Girl earn sixty five cents of every box sold. If girls decide to forgo incentives they can also receive an additional $.05 on every box they sell.
  3. Incentives are the fun items girls can earn for high selling. Each item on the image you see here correlations to an amount of cookies – girls can earn these incentives commutatively – the more they sell the more they earn! In addition, girls can earn an extra $.03 on every box of cookies once they reach 1,0000!
  4. Everything is Girl Scouts is completely girl-led and the cookie sale is no different. Girls choose what activities they participant in and actively engage in the decision making process. Girls should work together to answer these questions: how many cookies can they sell, what about the troop? Would they like to receive incentives, or instead have the additional $.05? How do they want to use the funds? They might consider using their raised funds for a “Gift of Sharing” project – maybe donating to a local food pantry or animal shelter.
  5. Every family is asked to complete a Parent Permission and Responsibility Form (NC-G1) this makes them financially responsible for cookies received and monies owed. Be sure to hold them to this responsibility- It’s not personal but if payment is not received, proper Delinquency paperwork should be filed.
  6. When submitting your initial cookie order, you will also submit your order for early achiever incentives. Girls who have sold 150 boxes can receive a early achiever patch. Troop who have at least 150 boxes sold per girl in the troop can receive the early troop achiever. These orders are not made automatically, don’t forget to place these orders under the incentive tab in January. The incentives are delivered to the Service Unit in mid to late May.
  7. In late March once the sale has culminated, be sure to go back into the Incentives tab and submit your final order. The goal achiever patch is earned when 150 boxes have been sold per girl. The T-shirt is earned when 175 boxes have been sold per girl by the last day of the sale. Don’t forget these submissions are not automatic and must be ordered through eBudde.
