 RANDOM ASSIGNMENT BY FLIPPING A COIN FOR EACH 
GROUP OF FOOD (HEADS GETS HARDWOOD, TAILS GETS 
CARPET) 
 PICK 50 CARROTS OUT OF A BAG, FIRST 25 GO TO GROUP 1 
AND THE SECOND 25 GO TO GROUP 2, AND DROP THEM 1 
AT A TIME (25 HARDWOOD, 25 CARPET) 
 PICK 50 GRAPES OUT OF A BAG FIRST 25 GO TO GROUP 1 
AND THE SECOND 25 GO TO GROUP 2, AND DROP THEM 1 
AT A TIME (25 HARDWOOD, 25 CARPET)

Experiment 
 TREATMENTS: HARDWOOD FLOOR AND CARPET 
 SPLIT THE 3 FOODS UP, 50 GRAPES, 50 CARROTS, 50 CHICKEN 
PIECES. 
 AMONG THE GROUPS OF 50, RANDOMLY SPLIT THEM INTO 
TWO GROUPS OF 25. 
 PICK A GROUP OF 25, FLIP A COIN, HEADS GET DROPPED ON 
HARDWOOD, TAILS GETS DROPPED ON CARPET. 
 THE OTHER 25 PIECES OF FOOD GET THE OPPOSITE OF THE 
FIRST GROUP. 
 RECORD OBSERVATION OF BACTERIA AND COMPARE TO 
UNDROPPED FOOD
Control 
 THE CONTROL GROUP FOR THIS EXPERIMENT IS THE 
UNDROPPED FOOD. DROPPED FOOD WILL BE 
COMPARED TO UNDROPPED FOOD. 
 THE GROUPS OF 25 WILL GET RANDOM ASSIGNMENT TO 
EITHER HARDWOOD OR CARPET 
 NO REPLICATION DUE TO THE FACT THAT ONCE A PIECE IS 
DROPPED, IT IS EXAMINED AND NOT USED AGAIN.
