Media StudiesHuman Communication StudiesStudents of Human Communication Studies learn about interpersonal communication theory, organizational communication, training and development, and human relations/human resources.
 Organizational communication is necessary for companies and groups to perform well. People are needed to make sure that everyone in the organization is able to be heard well, from upper management all the way down to the lower levels.Human Communication Studies This area of communication is vital, as the theories learned in this course of study can be put into practice as new situations in the workplace and other organizational environments arise.
Different acts of communicating within organizations are often complex and interrelated (http://www.natcom.org/index.asp)By studying theories of how people communicate within organizations , organizations can apply successful communication strategies to and generate more productivity and better workplace satisfaction
Journalism/Public RelationsThis track prepares students to enter into the fields of print journalism and corporate and public sector public relations
 Communicating within journalism involves being able to effectively  report on and write about stories that people want and need to know about events that surround them. 
 Journalism keeps us up to date by communicating to us the news and opinions of the day, and also shapes how we receive information to form our views of the Nation, Communities, and World at large.Journalism/Public RelationsPublicists make sure their clients’ presence is communicated loudly and clearly in the media arena by ensuring they get good press coverage and counteracting the bad. They do this by writing press releases and compiling press kits.The ability to communicate information by writing well make the fields of Journalism and Public Relations into art forms, rather than just conveying facts.
