The company has a sustainability program called Serve 360 which has four pillars: Nurture the world, Sustain responsible operations, Empower opportunity, and Welcome all. Marriott uses the Global Reporting Initiative standards to report on its sustainability impacts and progress towards goals in areas like reducing waste and carbon emissions, supporting communities, and empowering minorities. Going forward, Marriott plans to further integrate sustainability into its business operations through initiatives like expanding renewable energy and increasing the number of LEED certified properties.
