Useful Recommendations:

- Due to the characteristics of ceramic products, light dimensional and tonality variations may occur,
however these are considered normal and inherent (natural) to the manufacturing process. The
measures presented are merely a reference.

- For a better use, bricks from different pallets should be chosen to archieve a good tolerance in the
dimensions. The use ought to be done with maximum care. The common dimension for the joint is set
between 10 and 20 mm.

- A lowered joint should not be done.

- In order to get a uniform tonality in façades it is important to use bricks from alternate pallets.

- The construction must be made on a perfectly levelled base, isolated from all dampness from the soil
so as to avoid efflorescence by absorption.

- Bricks should be laid on flat places (surfaces) with no dirt or dampness.

- Use mortar, Portelande kind, with low aluminium tricalcium Phosphate and sulphate content to avoid
the appearance of afflorescence.

- Do not use too agressive cleaning products in the walls as they may alter the brick´s natural aspect.

- If efflorescence appears, it may be cleaned with a 10% hydrochloric acid solution.

- Avoid the accumulation and use of water in excess when putting bricks in façades.

- The superior parts of façades should be protected to avoid the change of colour due to saturation by
rain.

- It´s important to protect the construction during rainy days.

- Don´t cover the wall while wet.

- When using «hidrofugantes» products, these should be used in the summer, while the façades are
completely dry. The use of varnishes that do not allow the respiration of the bricks is not advisable.

- It´s important that a dry, hot period of time passes so that the construction may dry and its final aspect
may be enjoyed.

- It´s not necessary to wet the brick before using it, this could cause taints in the bricks and reduce its
absorption capacity, thus avoiding the dehydration that the mortar undergoes when in contact with the
taints.

- Not following these recommendations may originate / may lead to problems in the bricks, in such a
way that the responsibility will be from the constructor.
Therefore, all the recommendations on the use of this material should be taken into consideration.

- Our products should always be stored in proper places, sheltered from the weather.



- The GRESLAR products are recommended for coating interiors.
