These are simple day to day activities which will work on everybody.
This presentation gives you what are the vegetables fruits diet regimen to be followed during summer season.
It's also tells some of disease conditions that commonly occur in summer season.
You can get useful with particular disease and regimen to be followed during that condition and also some of precautionary measures during summer season.
This contains the information what are the foods to be avoided during summer season and what are the food to be consumed by a person during summer season.
2. Season :
• It is a division of the year based on changes in
weather, ecology and number of daylight hours in a
given region.
• on, Earth, seasons are the result of Earth's orbit
around the Sun and Earth's axial tilt relative to the
ecliptic plane.
• Extreme winter, Spring, Summer, Rainy, autumn,
pre-winter are the Seasons in india.
Regimen:
• It is a systematic plan as of diet, therapy or
medication especially to improve and maintain health
of an individual.

4. Summer season
Uttarayana (Adhana kala) – Sun rays moving towards northern region.
During summer season, there is a increasing in atmospheric temperature due
the more sun rays.
It is the period of extraction (Body strength decreases during summer season).
5. Summer season diseases and precautions:
The scorching heat and unrelenting dryness bring with it a host of diseases if
precautions are not taken.
Dehydration
• This is one of the most common problems that occur in summer when water intake
does not compensate for water loss.
• During summers, we tend to lose a lot of water and salts in the form of sweat
without realizing. This needs to be replenished for the normal functioning of the
body.
6. Heat stroke/ Hyperthermia
● It is due to prolonged exposure to high temperature.
● It is preceded by the signs of heat exhaustion like headache, dizziness,
weakness & Results in unconsiousness, organ failure and eventually death.
7. Food Poisoining
● It is caused by the consumption of contaminated food or water.
● The warm & humid weather provides a fertile environment for bacterial growth and
leads to food contamination.
● It spreads by bacteria, viruses, toxins and chemicals post entering the human
body cause the onset of stomach paiin, nausea, diarrhoea or vomiting.
8. Mumps
● It is extremely contagious Viral disease. It is known to occur mainly in children
during peak summer.
● Transmitted when an infected person sneezes or cough into neighbouring
people.
● Affects the parotid infront of ears, causing swelling, pain, fever.
9. Heat rashes
● It is red or pink rash usually found on area of body that are covered with clothes.
● It happen during hot humid condition and most common in children.
● It develops when sweat ducts become blocked and swell up, looking like dots or tiny
pimples on the skin,it often causes discomfort and itching.
10. Sunburn
● Caused by UV rays from sun
that damage your skin cells .
● Over exposure to harmful uv rays
from sun leads to painful rashes on skin.
Kidney diseases
● If you are not drinking enough water and
not urinating properly,
then you will get Stones,
● If you are not properly cleaning your external
organs you may get Urinary tract infection.
11. Precautions
1. Drink plenty of water (2-3 Litres) ,
Increased fluid intake keep yourself hydrated.
2. Wear loose fitting clothes (tight clothes do not let your body to sweat)
3. Wear light coloured clothes (Dark colour absorb more heat)
4. Use an umbrella while going outside.
12. 5. Do not skip food ,
6. Avoid fasting.
7. Avoid excess spicy food.
8. Apply Coconut Oil if having sunburn.
9. Wash your hands properly and follow general hygiene before touching
any food items.
10. Don’t eat undercooked and street foods.
11. Avoid mosquito breeding places & apply mosquito repellents.
12. Avoid too much exposure to sun, especially in noon to around 3pm,
when the sun rays are directly perpendicular.
13. While travelling or for outdoor activities protect yourself from sun hest
by wearing a cap, sunglasses etc.
13. Foods to consume during summer season
● Drink plenty of water,
● Liquid drinks like coconut water ,
● Butter milk,
● Lemon juice,
● Sugarcane juice,
● Watermelon juice
● Keep yourself hydrated.
14. • Eat more fruits especially like water melons,
mango, Berries, grapes, apples etc.
• Eat fruit salad, fruit juice etc.
15. • Eat more vegetables especially cucumber (It is
loaded with fibre, avoid constipation), onions, carrot,
raddish bottle gourd, pumpking etc.
• Eat vegetable salads, soups etc
17. • Eat light foods.
• Meat soup which is not thick.
• Ghee and milk along with rice helps to keep the body
cool.
18. ● Take coriander seed powder 1 spoon & add it to a
cup of water leave it for a night, next day morning
drink it an empty stomach.
● After taking bath drink cor flour mixed with cold
water.
● Soak 5 raisins and 5 almonds in water at night,
next day morning, eat them.
20. Hot & spicy food
• Spices like chilli, nutmeg, mustard, pepper, ginger and cinnamon contain
ingredients which are beneficial to our body, they should be used sparingly in
summer as they boost the rate of metabolism and have a thermogenic effect
on the body.
• It is advisible to avoid curry-based dishes as they too contain lots of oil and
spices and may cause as upset stomach in summer.
21. Non-vegetarian food
• Chicken, Red meat, Beef, Pork are to be avoided during summer
because they generate heat.
• Also, meat get contaminated easily in summer and it will Cause
food poisoning.
22. Ice creams & cold drinks:
• Both ice creams and cold drinks are body warming foods. They
make your stomach feel hotter a few minutes after ingestion
instead of providing relief from heat.
23. Tea & Coffee
• Caffine which is present in both tea & coffee has a
dehydrating effect on your body. Also, it tends to heat up the
body. If taken in excess and may also affects sleep.
24. Daily regimens to be followed during day
time & night time
Day time:
● During day time, stay indoor & avoid outdoor works.
● Keep windows closed during day time so that heat does
not trapped inside.
● Sit under large trees, which is having bunch of leaves
and flowers.
● Sit near the water areas like, river, ponds, seas
25. • Take umbrella while going out.
• While travelling or for outdoor activities protect yourself from
sun hest by wearing a cap, sunglasses etc.
• Wear light clothes.
• Take bath twice a day.
26. Night time :
● At night, one should sleep on terrace.
● Apply Sandal wood paste on chest region.
● Sit under moonlight.
● Wear Pearl, garlands.
