He usually climbed the tree with some friends. Then they picked some mangoes without permission. Yap, they liked to steal mangoes. They frequently ate mangoes on the tree. They had prepared a fruit peeler and a plastic bag for the garbage. What a good preparation! They didn’t want to throw the garbage everywhere. They kept the environment clean. That’s a good point. But stealing fruits is a bad point.

- 9. The definition ofPast Continuous Tense • Last night at 6 pm, my family and I were cooking dinner together. Keterangan waktu kalimat di atas adalah jam 6, dengan adanya keterangan waktu maka periode terjadinya peristiwa menjadi jelas. Jika keterangan waktu yang ditulis hanya last night, maka periode waktunya tidak jelas. Jadi, jika ingin menggunakan past continuous tense, maka harus menuliskan keterangan waktu dengan spesifik.
- 10. Past continuous tensejuga digunakan untuk membandingkan dua kejadian yang terjadi di masa lalu. Contoh kalimatnya seperti berikut: • When I was finishing a project, the rain fell. (Kegiatan yang sedang berlangsung adalah menyelesaikan sebuah tugas projek. Hujan mulai turun ketika di tengah-tengah menyelesaikan tugas projek) • When I finished a project, the rain was falling. (Pada kalimat ini yang sedang berlangsung adalah hujan. Artinya, hujan sudah turun dan masih hujan ketika subjek mengerjakan tugas projeknya)
