Vocabulary
DECIMALS – a rational number that is a combination of a
whole number and a part of a whole.
WHOLE NUMBERS – numbers such as 0, 1, 2, 3, 4 , 5, 6, 7
…,
DECIMAL POINT – separates the whole number and the
part of the whole .

In reading the decimal number, we read
the whole number first then the decimal
point is read as “and” then read the
decimal part just like in reading the
whole number then say the last place
value of the decimal.
