The Gauteng Provincial Treasury in South Africa hosted a workshop to train officials from government departments on auditing predetermined objectives. The training aimed to help officials properly deal with performance information and indicators to improve audit outcomes. Officials were instructed on legislative requirements for objectives and the importance of setting realistic, achievable goals aligned with priorities. Attendees were also advised on achieving clean audits by having reliable financial statements, credible performance reports, and compliance with financial laws. Proper record keeping, support from monitoring units, and risk management were highlighted as important for receiving good audit reports.
