1. Using Google trends for insight into what people are searching for with google.
For past many years Google is undoubtedly the King of Internet Search. In fact, the term
“Googling” is used synonymously for Internet search.
Everyone knows this, so without singing the song of Google Glory, let’s come to the point.
Google maintains database of what people search all over the world, with details like country,
states, cities, time of search. This data can be used frightfully for political, financial,
business, entertainment trends ananlysis.

We can see what are currently trending topics in different regions of the world. Picture below
shows trends in India on 12th
May of 2016. As seen, today was the results day of Madhya
Pradesh and Goa states. It can also be noted that Indian people are in light mood at this time,
they are more interested in sports, movies etc.
Marathi movie “Sairat” is making history. Akash Thosar and Rinku Rajguru are young hero
and heroin. Picture below compares their popularity on Google. Rinku Rajguru is searched
topmost from Chinchwad suburb of Pune.

2. Picture below shows that Windows stills dominates over Ubuntu. The place “pipmlad” is at
the topmost place for search of the term “Windows” . Mumbai and Pune are pushed at the
bottom. Sounds funny, doesn’t it?

3. As seen in the image below, the search for the term “BSE SENSEX” surged on May the 16th
2014, around the time of change of government. Funny again that Mizoram is at the top.
