1. Failed orders and Syncing
No matter what we say or do, it is apparent the reason why most orders are
failing is because a Sync has not been done each morning.
Syncing with GNS should only take about 5 minutes. It needs to be done in
the morning, because we update the Sales Force information at 2am, so
doing a “Sync” before you go to bed will not achieve anything.

There are two parts to the Sync process
1. Sync All Users. This is really just computer talk for getting all updates based
on your customer list. So if there is a new account in your territory you will
not be able to do an order for them until a “Sync All Users” has been done.
2. Sync All State Data. This is the procedure that updates all the inventory and
pricing, so this takes a little longer. This is very important because if GNS have
made items inactive because they are out of stock you will not receive this
update unless you Sync. Without a sync your tablet will think the item exists
and you will be still able to order. But, finally when you submit the order it
will not be able to be sent because the item no longer exists. Once a order
fails to be submitted all subsequent orders will fail as well.

If an orders fails, what do I do ?
1. Check that you are connected to the internet. Do you have an IP
address?
2. Check the Submitted Orders Screen, you can now double click on the
orders and check all the items have a status of True. If there are any
items that are False, then delete these items and the order will be
sent. Items that are flagged as False are due to inventory changes at
GNS, these items may deleted lines, promotional or seasonal lines
that have been disabled.
3. If there is any other problems you can click on the log screen to get
more details of the error.
4. Ring GNS, we can log on to your machine and help you get the order
sent. Make sure you are connected to the internet before you ring.
5. Even if the order can not be sent we can export the order and email
the order manually to the customer service team. This is a last
resort, because the order will have to be processed manually and
deleted from your tablet.

2. Text Lines
The Sales Force application now allows you to add text against a
single line on an order or attach comments to the order as a
whole.
To add text against a line simply tap on the TXT Icon on the line you
wish to add the text. Then type the message and tap OK. Once
text has been added to a line on an order the TXT Icon will go
yellow to indicate there is text on that line.
Text can also be added to the entire order. This can only be done
when submitting the order. So to add text, tap the SUBMIT
button and type the text. Once the comments has been added
Export the Order and tap Yes to send the order.

3. Searching with the Barcode Scanner
Perhaps the best improvement that has been made to the GNS Sales Force, has
been the ability to use the scanner to search for a product within a range.
Select Search from the main menu then, just scan the barcode of an product that
is similar to what you are looking for. All the items within that product
category will be displayed in either product description or code order.
Once the list of products are displayed, the search results can be “Narrowed
By”, either Text, Brand or Category.
Now just tap on the Qty column. Once all the quantities are added for the
products required, tap on “Add to Cart”.
Note: More than one item can be added to the cart within a single search.

4. Using the On Screen Keyboard
The GNS Sales Force program has been designed for use with the On Screen
keyboard using your finger as the touching device.
The Dell On Screen Keyboard and the Stylus are not to be used.
The On Screen keyboard can be activated by tapping the ABC Icon in the bottom
right hand side of the screen. The ABC Icon appears when there is text
required to be entered. The Icon will appear when the cursor is in the Product
Code box or the search box.

5. Other Improvements
A lot of effort has been put in to making the tablets more user friendly and easier
to use.
Some of these improvements have been:
• The General Speed and responsiveness of the application
• Implementation of extended batteries and/or car chargers
• Continual updates of the GNS Image library
• New Telstra latest technology 3G wireless broadband cards.
