Green Man Skills Zone
Brixton’s Collaborative Skills and Training Hub
Green Man works on a ‘collaborative approach’ basis. We believe that no
one organisation can provide solutions that address the multiple barriers
that some people face when looking to return to work. Additionally we feel
it is better to collaborate rather then compete with fellow service providers
looking to deliver in the borough
Detailed here are the facilities that are available for any organisation
looking to deliver support to people out of work or surviving on a low
income. We have multiple packages available for interested parties who
want a low-cost flexible delivery space in the heart of Lambeth.

The Green Man Skills Zone (GMSZ) is based in one of the most deprived
wards in the UK and represents a collaborative approach to finding
solutions to entrenched worklessness within inner city boroughs. Initially,
a project between Job Centre Plus (JCP) and Lambeth council, delivery is
now being taken forward by Green Man Skills Zone Ltd, a new not-for-
profit organisation.
This new delivery model has been designed to continue the previous co-
operative approach but to also introduce more innovative ideas and
approaches to the training and return to work arena.
Delivery
Space
We have a number of different
spaces available for
organisations to utlise.
Green Man provides the
associated infrastructure which
includes:
• BT Broadband and
telephones
• WiFi or LAN
connections
• Reception area and
staff
• Public and staff toilet
facilities
• Private Kitchen
Main Training Space
This room has 10 dedicated
networked computers, projector
and white board. It can also be
configured to seat up to 20
theatre style
Small Training space
This flexible space can be used
as a boardroom, break out
space or training room for up to
8 people. Comes with 32”
monitor which can attach to
laptops to show films and
presentations
Public computers
We have a bank of 5 PCs
available within the public area
currently used for job search
and on-line training.
Office Area
We have a number of desks
with networked PCs and
telephones available for use.
These can be block booked or
utilised individually. There is
also a staffed Reception area.

Green Man Recruitment
Green Man has an associated
organisation that delivers a Job
Brokerage service through an
Employment Agency. Through
GMR we are able to quickly
interface with recruiting
employers who are interested in
apprenticeship and work
experience placements.
Jobcentre Plus
Green Man is an outreach
centre for JCP 18-24 advisors
who carry out interviews as well
as employer events within the
centre.
Lambeth Working
Lambeth Working staff host a
weekly Construction Job Club
within the centre as well as
CSCS test and card provision.
They are a direct link to
vacancies within the Nine elms
regeneration site
National Careers Service
NCS staff are available on site
to conduct careers guidance
with eligible adults
