Driving growth in Indian manufacturing industry Sumit Roy
Indian manufacturing is just perfectly poised to Unlocking the transformation value with technology .While businesses understand that in order to build an organisation that is agile and suited to withstand current market and economic volatilities, there are several things to be considered before taking a digital leap. More than just a strategy for any individual technology trend or for combining more than one of them, companies need a systematic approach to adopt technologies in a holistic fashion. The industry trends and challenges primarily drive the appropriate selection of technology solutions, which need to be fine-tuned to a company’s needs based on its scale, capabilities and its specific issues. This joint CII-PwC report takes a closer look at two industries in particular, manufacturing and infrastructure, and tries to decode the prevalent challenges in these two sectors, the kind of initiatives being taken to drive growth and development, and how IT adoption is playing an important role to overcome these challenges
India is looking at hosting nearly a total of 2000 #GCCs in the next three to four years.
But what mark does that leave on our #talent landscape?
To answer this and more, we’re elated to present ‘India Captivating! Impact of Global Captive Centers (GCCs) on the Indian Staffing Ecosystem’ to our entire network.

GCCs or Global Captive Centers constitute and contribute to a significant chunk of the Indian economy. Market predictions reveal that we are looking at a total of 2000 GCCs in the country by 2025. Operating at various levels, these GCCs are zeroing in on the Indian talent ecosystem to achieve their technology-driven goals majorly. 3.64 lakh jobs are expected to be created by the India-based GCCs over the next twelve months. This report attempts to decode the impact of these client-owned and operated service delivery centers on the Indian staffing landscape.

Leveraging Design Thinking for Value Enhancement of Digital Transformation Innomantra
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Digital Transformation has been making waves and has found widespread recognition in most industries. What started as a driver of marginal efficiency is now rapidly shifting to become an enabler of fundamental innovation and disruption within an organization. The scope and scale of digital-driven change continue to grow immensely. However, organizations are still grappling with the nuances of the journey of digital transformation implementation, its implications or its impact. Digital transformation is not about adopting technologies but having an integrated approach involving people and leadership.
This white paper presents the context of digital transformation in manufacturing organizations. It redefines the process to incorporate important aspects such as breaking the silos, rescoping the challenge/ objectives, having an iterative approach and using design thinking to better understand the value implication of such an exercise. Case studies from clients have been used to illustrate the same.

When employees at an industrial site returned to the workplace after it was closed during the COVID-19 pandemic, they noticed a few differences.
Sensors or RFID tags were used to determine whether employees were washing their hands regularly. Computer vision determined if employees were complying with mask protocol and speakers were used to warn people of protocol violations.
What’s more, this behavioral data was collected and analyzed by the organizations to influence how people behaved at work.
Such digital accelerations are among Gartner's strategic technology trends that will enable the plasticity or flexibility that resilient businesses require in the significant upheaval driven by COVID-19 and the current economic state of the world.

Levelwise PageRank with Loop-Based Dead End Handling Strategy : SHORT REPORT ...Subhajit Sahu
Abstract — Levelwise PageRank is an alternative method of PageRank computation which decomposes the input graph into a directed acyclic block-graph of strongly connected components, and processes them in topological order, one level at a time. This enables calculation for ranks in a distributed fashion without per-iteration communication, unlike the standard method where all vertices are processed in each iteration. It however comes with a precondition of the absence of dead ends in the input graph. Here, the native non-distributed performance of Levelwise PageRank was compared against Monolithic PageRank on a CPU as well as a GPU. To ensure a fair comparison, Monolithic PageRank was also performed on a graph where vertices were split by components. Results indicate that Levelwise PageRank is about as fast as Monolithic PageRank on the CPU, but quite a bit slower on the GPU. Slowdown on the GPU is likely caused by a large submission of small workloads, and expected to be non-issue when the computation is performed on massive graphs.

various technology-led digitalization efforts – from exploring newer operating models to

partnerships, to focusing on innovation – both internally and externally. GCCs have paved
their paths to future-proof themselves against interruptions and redefine, realign, reboot,
and reimagine their global organizations to thrive in the new normal. Let us take a swift
look at the top priorities to augment the growth of GCCs in India further.
Global Market Focus: With the pandemic blurring the lines between
locations., there is an increased focus to drive market expansion activities with
high-quality cost-efficient products / solutions from India.
Digital Transformation: The effect of the pandemic has increased the
pace of adoption of emerging digital platforms and tools across portfolios,
along with a focus on tech COE setups.
Talent: Increased pace of Digital Transformation is creating a
huge demand for niche skilled workforce. GCCs, industry
bodies, and government will need to bridge the skill demand-
supply gap and continue to focus on upskilling/reskilling of
talent.
Infra: The rise of remote working, millennials seeking
opportunities to live closer to their families, and the
financial advantages has led to the development of
tier-II and tier-III cities. This in turn is leading to a rise
in demand for good infrastructure in these locations.

11. The changing Vision Of
GCCs Located In India
It is no secret that GCCs in India are primarily helping drive the transformation
agendas of their respective parent organizations worldwide. Not surprisingly, many
GCCs were initially set up only to serve as operative process hubs. The advantage to
the parent organization was the cost arbitrage derived from establishing hubs in
India. However, they quickly realized that such centers could blossom into
technology hubs and eventually into full-fledged global capability centers catering
to the holistic transformation agenda for the company.
With this change in emphasis and scope, the GCCs in India today have become
hotbeds of innovation and incubators of fresh ideas. They conceptualize new products
and services based on evolving market needs. And these innovations leverage cutting-
edge solutions to business challenges and digitalization using emerging digital
technologies. The work being done by the GCCs here, in India, impacts global business
radically and provides strategic advantages. The recent EY’s GCC Pulse survey 2020
vindicates our belief that GCCs in our country are uniquely positioned to play an even
more integral role and are poised to become the epicenters of efficiency, innovation,
and modern practices in the next few years.

12. 5 Pillars To Define Future
Operating Model Of GCCs
Vision and Strategy: With a significant majority focusing on next-
generation thinking, the GCC leadership is now playing a critical role in
defining their strategy centered on technology enablement and
developing an innovation culture.
Digital: As part of the impetus on digital transformation initiatives, GCCs are
reinventing products, engaging with customers, optimizing operations,
and empowering employees.
Operations: As service delivery evolves to remote and digitally augmented
models, organizations must navigate scalability and demand allocation
challenges.
Resilience: With the GCCs focussing on creating long-term stability, they
evaluate their approach towards critical risk management, data security,
and business continuity planning.

initiatives are paramount for the success of any GCC with a sustainable
focus on delivering customer-centric offerings.

13. Conclusion
Leveraging modern technology can go a long way in transforming the face of GCCs and
help them achieve higher efficiency, low costs, improved employee retention, and
enhanced business agility. Moreover, it should also focus on bridging the demand-supply
gap in skills and continuous reskilling/upskilling of the workforce to develop India as a
