Hands on IoT Solutions Architect – (Sept-Dec 2015) At Altiux Innovations Inc. as lead solutions
architect supporting local CA, USA office with sales and business development support for end-
end IoT Technical Solutions professional services, tasks included; support, ideate and extend
client demos in Altiux Smart City Parking and Lighting (pt to multipoint pt Zigbee and BLE); write
client specific IoT device level embedded software integration proposals for residential IoT

○ Provided networking solution support for converged communication and
entertainment networking infrastructure design, using multiple vendor hardware and
software technology components in an end-to-end IPTV ecosystem. Solution
evangelizing included formal presentations and white boarding collaborations with
leading US/Canada providers’ CTO shops, multimedia CDN architecture analysis, and
delivered final opportunity proposals.
○ As hands-on tech lead, designed and coded portions of the initial communications-
enabled entertainment client (TRU2WAY STB) and server (HTTP-SIP proxy) software
prototype that was then used in IPTV trade shows and demos and later productized by
a team of 30 over three years. Participated in agile sprint scrum sessions to ensure
design intents and enablers persisted through to product.
○ Later in this multimedia incubator shop I pioneered a second prototype multimedia
convergence project - Pitched and received Nortel CTO seed funding to prototype a

adding extensions to wired and wireless multimedia networked end-to-end switched
voice, video, and data telecom-networked solutions. IoT like control of audio
processing paths in both time switched and packet switched domains integrating
multiple software controlled audio hardware and frameworks in order to echo cancel,
decode/inject dtmf tones, a/v conference bridging, audio speech bit substitution and
networking for advanced telephony call controls, speech to text and text to speech,
dynamic audio and video path switching between multiple live sources and sinks,
remote diagnostic controls, reporting, and recovery using 16 sensor and actuation
points.
○ Various roles as engineering manager and system architect tech lead mentoring
subordinates and evangelizing internally and externally across multiple teams. This
included internal workshops developing networking software designs across multiple
corporate global sites and R&D organizations within Nortel, with third party
collaborators, and externally with lead customer technology labs. Received award for

● Founded company based on successful participation and graduation in Carleton University Lead

● Mediality company offering was a simple, converged multimedia communication experience at
any TV (using any off the shelf Internet-connected Blu-ray player J2ME open API software). It
included a mobile phone application, integrated to over the top via a linked phone number to
the consumer’s existing multimedia communication subscriptions, IPTV, SIP/IMS, and MMS
based telecommunication provider’s networks.
● Client software developed in J2ME as a Blu-ray disc client was integrated with third-party
licensed software and connected to the server side developed with SIP/IMS edge server proxy to
HTTP RESTful multimedia APIs.
