Giles Duley is a photographer who lost his left arm and both legs in an accident in Afghanistan. He switched from fashion photography to documenting stories of people in need. In his TED talk, he shared three stories: of an autistic boy he helped get treatment by photographing him, an African tribe he brought attention to, and Ukrainian kids, one of whom died overnight. Duley concluded by saying we all have gifts to help others and should do more.

In February 2012, one man's dream was shattered by lies of a few, that couldn't bare his life style and dedication to animals. As of today, April 10, 2013, Craig Grant is still not charged with any animal cruelty charges that the ASPCA came up with and the same ASPCA did not returned any of Craig's personal cats back, per judges order from August 2012. See more in our presentation and help us support Craig by sharring his story.
This session will discuss the client interview, which is the first phase of handling many types of cases. Although, this session will focus on the litigation paralegal's role the techniques can be applied to interviews many other practice areas as well.
A short talk introducing the typology of ePortfolio,s and the taxonomy of their functionality. This was delivered as part of a University of West of England Practice Based Learning in Social Wok session.

3. In 2011, Giles was in a bad accident in Afghanistan
He lost his left arm and both of his legs in the accident.
After the accident he said“I thought, “Right hand? Eyes?I can
work.”
4. Duley switched from fashion to people.
He wanted to tell the story of people.
In his Ted speech he talked about three different stories.
5. AUTISM CHILD
Duley started by talking about a young boy he spent time with.
The child was Autistic.
The boy would beat himself up, but wouldn’t tell anyone what he
did.
Duley wanted to help the boy, so he started taking pictures.
6. AUTISM CHILD
Duley then told the story of the young boy by these pictures, and
the boy was able to get the help he needed.
7. AFRICAN TRIBE
Duley said that he then went to a African tribe to take pictures
there.
One of the people who wanted their picture taken was this lady.
8. The villagers wanted Duley to help, but he tried telling them he
wasn’t a doctor.
Duley instead took these pictures and made them public so
people know what is going on.
10. The people in the city they were in all thought the kids were
trouble.
Duley however saw a different side of the kids.
The night this picture was taken was the last picture taken of
one of these boys.
The next day Duley went to go find the boys only to find out
one of them died overnight.
11. AFGHANISTAN
As said in the introduction, Duley took a trip to Afghanistan to
take pictures of the soldiers.
While in Afghanistan Duley stepped on an IED (Improvised
Explosive Device.)
The fact that Duley survived the accident is a miracle according
to the doctors.
13. DULEY’S CONCLUSION
Duley ended his speech by saying we all can do more to help out
others.
We all have different gifts that we can use to help others.
14. WHY DID I CHOOSE THIS STORY?
My major is sports marketing and media. One of the things I
want to do is tell stories of athletes who do great things that we
don’t hear about.
15. CONCLUSION
Duley and I both have the goal of letting other people’s stories to
be told because of our work.
