Gheorghe vasaru thermal diffusion bibliographyVasaru Gheorghe
This document is a bibliography of references on thermal diffusion from 1965-1995 compiled by Gheorghe Vasaru. It contains 1827 references arranged chronologically and alphabetically by author. The bibliography includes a reference list, author index, and subject index to provide a comprehensive overview of literature on thermal diffusion during that period. The foreword discusses the increasing attention and applications of thermal diffusion since 1938, including isotope separation. It is a second bibliography by the author on this topic, building on an earlier bibliography from 1856-1966.
The document discusses a pilot plant in India that uses liquid phase catalytic exchange and cryogenic distillation to remove tritium from heavy water used as a moderator in nuclear power reactors. The plant achieves around 90% removal of tritium. Tritium is a radioactive isotope of hydrogen that is produced in heavy water reactors and presents health risks if released. The plant also produces enriched tritium gas that is collected and stored. Indian scientists developed a hydrophobic catalyst that allows for effective tritium removal while avoiding safety issues with previous methods.

Thermal diffusion is a process that separates isotopes based on their molecular weight differences. Lighter isotopes diffuse toward hot surfaces in a temperature gradient. This paper discusses using thermal diffusion columns packed with methane to separate the carbon isotope 13C. Calculations show methane is a good candidate due to its low molecular weight. Experimental separation factors matched those calculated using molecular interaction models. The paper also describes an 8-stage cascade that concentrates 13C in methane to 25% using 19 thermal diffusion columns.

This document provides an overview of sources of tritium, including both natural and artificial sources. Naturally, tritium is produced through cosmic ray and solar proton bombardment of nitrogen and oxygen in the upper atmosphere. Artificially, it is produced through thermonuclear detonations and nuclear fission reactors. In nuclear reactors, tritium is produced through ternary fission, neutron activation of deuterium in heavy water, and neutron reactions with boron and lithium. Light water reactors produce around 15-20 kCi of tritium per gigawatt of electricity per year, while heavy water reactors produce significantly more due to deuterium activation.
This document provides an overview of research and developments related to the Atomic Vapor Laser Isotope Separation (AVLIS) method for uranium enrichment in various countries. It begins with background on uranium enrichment and the AVLIS process. It then summarizes AVLIS research in Brazil, China, and the development of laser and spectroscopy technologies in Brazil to enable investigation of uranium absorption for the AVLIS process.
This document discusses the applications and production of enriched heavy oxygen isotopes. It begins by outlining the medical uses of 16O, 17O, and 18O isotopes, with 18O being particularly important as the raw material for producing 18F, which is used in PET scans. Demand for highly enriched 18O increased greatly with the development of PET scans. The document then describes methods that have been used to separate and enrich the heavy oxygen isotopes, including low-temperature distillation of nitric oxide and water, with productions in the kilograms per year of isotopes enriched to 90-99% levels. It provides details on several industrial isotope production facilities.
The document discusses the status of research and development on the Atomic Vapor Laser Isotope Separation (AVLIS) method for uranium enrichment in various countries. It describes Brazil's AVLIS program which aimed to demonstrate the technical viability of the process using domestic resources. The effort focused on developing copper vapor lasers and dye lasers to deliver tunable visible beams for the AVLIS process, as well as spectroscopy research on uranium atoms. Laser development at Brazilian institutions successfully produced copper vapor lasers with output powers ranging from 5 to 40 watts. The program gained expertise needed for investigating multi-frequency absorption in uranium atoms.
Global production of oxygen-18 has increased significantly due to rising demand for PET scans. The document discusses various separation methods used at production facilities around the world. Cryogenic distillation of nitric oxide at the ICON facility in Los Alamos was an early pioneer that could produce kilogram quantities of oxygen-17 and oxygen-18. Cambridge Isotope Laboratories and Global Scientific Technologies now operate the largest commercial plants, using water distillation and nitric oxide distillation, respectively, to produce hundreds of kilograms of oxygen-18 annually for medical applications.

corpului solid, Fizicii nucleare, Fizicii moleculare, Fizicii medicale. I. Ursu.
activat peste 4 decenii?
Actualul institut îşi are originile în anul 1950, când a luat

Before 1958, the year when I have been transferred at
the Institute, research fields concerned especially Magnetism and Structure of the Matter. Farkas Gyula and Augustin
Maior were two of most important precursors. Later, new
research fields were approached with success, in Magnetism Physics, Solid State Physics, Nuclear Physics, Molecular Physics, and Medical Physics. Prof. Ioan Ursu had a special role in this context.
Now, physics researches were extended to others Universities and Institutes, having a deep interdisciplinary
character.
According to you, which are the specificities or
particularities of research fields and development directions of physics in Cluj-Napoca and which are the
eminent specialists that outlined the Research and Development Institute for Isotopic and Molecular Technologies? Which journals and publications from ClujNapoca imposed in 20th century in the field of physics?
Difficult question! I can’t answer directly. I consider,
however, that each of the existing Institutes engaged in the
field of physics, in Cluj-Napoca, know very well their purposes and try to face them in the best possible conditions.
Regarding journals and publications in the field of physics in Cluj-Napoca, they practical don’t exist. I believe the
most important – and probably exclusive – publication is
“Studia Universitatis Babeş-Bolyai – Physica”.
How would you describe the most important scientific and technological research activities and the new
research directions of the Research and Development
Institute for Isotopic and Molecular Technology, where
you activated for over 4 decades?
The origins of the Institute date from 1950, when
a Branch of the Institute for Physics from Măgurele
(Bucharest) was opened in Cluj. In 1952 this Branch passed
under the patronage of Cluj Branch of the Academy. At that
time, the research fields related to problems of applicative
character, most of them being requested by local industry.
At the beginning, the central problem of the Branch referred
to production of acetylene by methane gas cracking. The
positive results permitted to elaborate a technology that is
at the basis of an industrial method of obtaining acetylene,
raw material for rubber synthesis.
In 1956, after setting up the Institute for Atomic Physics
in Bucureşti-Măgurele, Cluj Branch belonged to this Institute, with a research profile focused on physics and chemistry of stable isotopes. The infrastructure and research personal of this Branch developed in the same rhythm as the
other units of the Institute. The research activity related to
problems of natural isotope abundances, separation, analysis and applications of stable isotopes of light elements, being the only unit in the country with this profile. In parallel,
at this Branch began the activity a laboratory of radioactivity, designed for industrial applications of radioisotopes in
Transylvania, and for study of radionuclide abundances in
surrounding environment.
In 1970 the Branch became the Institute for Stable Isotopes, unit depending on the State Committee for Nuclear
Energy (CSEN), and in 1976 it became the Institute for
Isotopic and Molecular Technology. From 1999, the In-

and Development of Isotopic and Molecular Technology
(NIRDIMT).
Some of the research fields of the Institute, of major importance for Romanian economy, are presented below:
Deuterium and Heavy Water
Within the Institute of Atomic Physics, the research field
of Cluj-Napoca Branch had a special character. The main
goal was to investigate the physics and chemistry of deuterium and heavy water separation (nuclear materials of vital importance for nuclear reactors, moderated and cooled
by heavy water, of CANDU type). These researches began in
very precarious conditions of information, because of the
classified secret on the researches made concerning the
separation of this isotope. On the other hand, the equipment of the Department was under the level requested by
this type of research.
In the first stage, the research began on three directions:
1. deuterium sources prospection, (knowing that water is
the main source in nature, and then natural gases, crude oil
and in a certain measure synthesis gas from the factories of
nitrogen fertilizers); 2. elaboration of analysis methods of
deuterium; 3. elaboration of a method for deuterium separation. In the second stage, it was foreseen to use this isotope
in others fields than nuclear energy.
Concerning the distribution of deuterium in nature, the
most important rivers, methane and crude-oil have been
explored, putting the basis of hydrology and isotope geology researches. The data obtained in time about the distribution of deuterium in natural cycle of water evidenced the
existence of some connections between different phenomena (water evaporation, atmospheric humidity, water circulation) and therefore a series of conclusions were drawn
about the origin and evolution of different river flows or of
the mineral water sources.
Regarding hydrocarbon deposits, by measuring the
content of deuterium, it was found the existence of isotopic level curves (isoconcentrate), which allowed establishing the maximum concentration point of hydrocarbons in the region. At the same time, it was determined
the displaced direction of the hydrocarbon mass, caused
by the exploitation process (which causes baric unbalances) and water injection. This kind of researches opened
a large field of applications in the extractive industry of
crude-oil and gases, making possible to exploit correctly
the hydrocarbon deposits.
A very important problem to be solved was the analysis of deuterium. It is well known that in nature, this isotope has a ratio Deuterium/Hydrogen (D/H) @ 1/6500,
therefore, to perform any kind of research, concerning the
determination of his natural abundance and/or isotopic
separation, it was necessary to dispose of high precision
and sensitive analysis methods. This was the reason for
which deuterium analysis in this range of concentration
was imposed from the beginning. The first researches on
the analysis of deuterium focused on non-spectrometric
methods, because the acquisition of a mass spectrometer
from import was impossible at that date. Thus, it was adjusted: densimetric methods for total isotopic analysis of
water (D/H and 18O/16O), using a variant of picnometric method, capable to determine density differences of
natural abundances at higher performances than the ones
obtained at world level; optical methods, building a FabryPerot spectrometer with a magnetostrictive scavenging
and pressure variation, with competitive results as compared to others methods; chromatography method in gaseous phase, being one of the most used methods for deuterium analysis in hydrogen mixtures and in hydrocarbon
and deuterium labeled compounds. The researches started

începute în anul 1958 s-au continuat, realizându-se diferite
tipuri de gaz-cromatografe, precum şi toate componentele
necesare acestei tehnici (coloane de separare, umpluturi,
detectori etc).

in 1958 continued, developing different types of gas chromatographs, as well as all necessary components for this
technique (separation columns, packing, detectors, a.s.o.).
This way it was possible to analyze the deuterium content
for the entire domain of concentrations, establishing also
the molecular species H2 - HD – D2.
Later, chromatography researches oriented also towards other fields, such as chemical, petrochemical and
biological analyses.
In parallel with researches on natural abundance and
deuterium analysis, it was also started a program for the separation of this isotope. At world level, for the new generation
of heavy water production plants that were being built in the
period 1955-1960, as competitive methods for the deuterium enrichment, were imposed the methods based on isotopic exchange reactions. The selection was however different
from country to country. Taking into consideration our possibilities, it was chosen the method of isotopic exchange between water and hydrogen, heterogeneously catalyzed in vapor phase and heterogeneously catalyzed in liquid phase. An
elementary separation process was established, combining
an isotopic exchange between hydrogen and water vapors
on a porous catalytic layer, with an evaporation-condensation from the surface of a water film. This process was studied during its component stages, as well as global process.
Catalytic reaction in gaseous phase was studied using
nickel catalysts on oxide supports, establishing the interfaces processes. It was established that nickel is the active
catalytic element, the support having only the role to increase the metal surface.
The separation process was experimented in a laboratory pilot, composed from a separation column coupled
to an electrolyser as phase convertor. Although this pilot
was not competitive for primary enrichment of deuterium,
its experimentation constituted a school for attacking the
problem of heavy water separation at industrial pilot level,
which allowed to the scientific team to have an important
contribution to the design of the heavy water pilot from
Usine G, Râmnicu Vâlcea and later, of the heavy water production plant from Halânga (Turnu Severin).
At the same time, the type of column established was
used also for the production of light water, with content
in deuterium under the natural level, necessary to realize
deuterium etalons and for deuteration of the organic compounds used in different applications.
Certain researches on H – D system focused on the
study of penetration process of hydrogen isotopes in the
crystalline array of a metal and of certain alloys, forming
metallic hydrides. In this purpose researches were developed for the use of hydrogen as energy source. It was
studied the electrolytic process with high output as hydrogen generator, its storage in adequate metals and alloys hydrides and its catalytic burning, using it to home
heating.
Separation of other isotopes
Besides deuterium and heavy water, the Institute was
concerned also about the problem of separation and analysis of other isotopes, useful to applications in various domains. Thus, theoretical studies were performed on separation processes, separation technologies have been set-up
and over 20 monographs and bibliographies in this field
were published, in the country and abroad.
Despite inconvenient issues (small quantities of product
and a relative high consumption of energy), thermal diffusion was one of the first methods of separation chosen by
the Institute. For this method were carried out studies of
separation factors calculus and of establishing the equilibration time for different gaseous isotopic mixtures ((H/D,
12
C/13C, 14N/15N, 16O/18O). Different types of thermal diffu-

Ulterior a apărut necesitatea

sion columns were constructed and experimented, whose
separation performances were established in isolated and
coupled operation conditions, in cascade regime.
The first stable isotope, separated in the period 19671968 by this method, was heavy isotope of nitrogen, 15N,
using as raw substance nitrogen in gaseous phase, of high
chemical purity and natural isotope abundance. In this purpose a cascade was projected and constructed, composed
of 4 columns, with a total length of 10 m.
Later, the heavy isotope of carbon was separated, 13C,
using as raw material gas, natural methane (1.1% 13C). For
this operation a cascade composed of 19 columns was used.
The production of this cascade was in the order of tens of
grams, at a concentration of 20% 13CH4.
Thermal diffusion is in present, one of the best separation methods of noble gases isotopes. By this method, in the
Institute, were separated neon isotopes (20Ne, 22Ne), using
a cascade composed of 8 columns, obtaining an enrichment
level of 99% for both isotopes.
For the separation of 36Ar, 79Kr and 86Kr isotopes a cascade
composed of 36 columns was used, the raw substance being
argon, and krypton, of high chemical purity. The enrichment
obtained was of 99% 36Ar and respectively 90% 86Kr.
The requests of bigger quantities of 15N for the preparation of labeled compounds, used especially in agriculture,
and for export, determined the study of the separation of
this isotope by the method of isotopic exchange between
nitric acid and nitric oxides (Spindel-Taylor method). The
installation established in the Institute, composed of two
stages of separation, allows a production of 1,000 g/y at an
enrichment of 99.8% 15N.
By isotope exchange between nitrogen oxides in a gaseous phase and solution of nitric acid in liquid phase was
also performed the separation of 18O. The installation was
coupled to 15N plant, using as raw material, the nitric oxide
delivered by it.
In the Institute was elaborated also a method for separation of 10B, isotope necessary for nuclear researches. In this
purpose, a plant was constructed, operated intermittently,
which uses the method of isotopic exchange between boron
trifluoride and one of its organic complexes. The production
was of some hundred grams, at a concentration of 80% 10B.
Another system studied was 6Li - 7Li, setting up a separation technology.
Besides these isotope separation plants, a series of auxiliary plants and equipments were established, stands for
preparation of raw materials, preparation of labeled compounds, pumps for fluid carriage, capable to operate in special conditions, flow meters and control apparatus.
In 1980 a new thematic was approached about separation of isotopes by selective excitation with laser radiation.
This research concentrated an important human effort and
material resources both in the Institute and within many
collaborations with specialized units from the country. During this program, a laser source was projected with transversal excitation at atmospheric pressure, due to which the
isotope separation effect for sulphur and carbon isotopes
was evidenced.
To increase the separation efficiency, a power laser
operated with CO2 - He – N2 mixture was built. To elucidate the elementary separation process, the CO2 – laser has been incorporated in a complex unit, with a light
modulator, whose disc rotation frequency was electronically monitored. Later, appeared the necessity to elaborate a series of pyroelectric detectors in infrared range
(IR), used as energy meters. To ensure the analysis cell
windows and other optical components (prism, lens) in
IR, transparent crystals growing units were built, elaborating also the technologies necessary for their processing.

investigarea unor structuri moleculare complexe, studiul
cameră de ciocnire destinat studiului reacţiilor ion-moleculă;

In the period 1987-1995, studies were made on isotopic
separation of uranium by laser molecular method (MLIS-U)
and a Database for the method of uranium isotopic separation by atomic vapor laser isotope separation (AVLIS-U)
was elaborated, materialized in 20 internal reports. Also,
a series of studies was conducted concerning tritium separation, heavy water detritiation and on zirconium isotope
separation.
Construction of devices and development of isotope
and structural analyses; studies on ion physics.
Separation of stable isotopes, synthesis of labeled compounds with these isotopes and their applications suppose
the existence of some methods of analysis of high precision.
The approach of this field of activity imposed an extension of researches, from those related to the elaboration of
isotope analysis methods, to the investigation of complex
molecular structures, molecular and ions fragmentation,
ion-molecule reactions, metastable ions study, and of the
isotopic effects that can appear during these processes.
A Program was started for the construction of devices, which had the purpose to compensate the difficulties
of that period with the acquisition of analytical equipment from import. The research effort was directed in
two principal directions: gas chromatography and mass
spectrometry. The Institute became the main source of
gas chromatographs for chemical analysis, covering in
this field the Institute’s necessities and requests from
economy. For Nuclear Power Plant (Cernavodă) a complex devise was built, for gas analysis from reactor atmosphere.
The most important results in the field of isotope analysis and complex chemical substances were obtained in
mass spectrometry. Even since 1956, the Institute was preoccupied by the creation of a research group in this field.
Starting with a small research team, engaged in the exploitation of a universal mass spectrometer, in some years this
group increased, becoming a strong research force in the
construction and exploitation of these devices. Today exists a well-equipped laboratory, with devices from import,
of high sensitivity (a mass spectrometer coupled with a
gas chromatograph and a computer for data processing),
and equipments projected and constructed in the Institute.
With this research team, it appeared also a design team and
a prototype workshop.
The Institute was and remained the only constructor of mass spectrometers from our country, serving a
broad field of investigations, both in nuclear and chemistry fields. From the most important achievements in the
field of mass spectrometry I mention: automatic mass
spectrometer, for measurement of deuterium concentrations at natural abundance, in a dynamic regime; tandem
mass spectrometer with collision chamber, for ion-molecule reactions studies; mass spectrometer for isotope and
chemical analysis in gaseous and liquid samples; double
focalization mass spectrometer, operable coupled to a gas
chromatograph; mass spectrometers for analysis of deuterium for Chemical Plant Drobeta-Turnu Severin (Heavy
Water Plant, ROMAG); quadripolar mass spectrometer
for isotopic analysis of high layers of atmosphere; mass
spectrometer with thermal ionization. It is designed for
the analysis of chemical elements without volatile compounds, or whose volatile compounds are instable or difficult to be manipulated (Li, K, Cs, Ru, Sr, U, Pb). Mass domain for which can be used is between 5 and 500 atomic
mass units. It allows isotope analysis by thermal ionization from lithium isotopes up to uranium isotopes. This
device is designed for the observation of isotope separation processes, for measurements of interest in isotopic
geology (dating, a.s.o) and for the control of nuclear fuel

din Râmnicu Vâlcea îşi arogă paternitatea integrală a acestor domenii. Precizez că primul raport, clasificat la vremea
aceea, intitulat „Producerea apei grele” (Raport IIS AG-1,
Deuterium and Heavy Water – A Selected Bibliography.

variate. Alegerea unui anumit procedeu de separare pentru
un caz concret presupune examinarea prealabilă a o serie

On the basis of the short presentation above of the research activity of Institute, in the period of 60 years of existence, we can conclude that, in a great part, it managed, by
his achievements, to cover an important research domain
regarding separation and analysis of stable isotopes, providing both necessary stable isotopes, as such, or incorporated in different compounds and labeled substances, and
the devices claimed by their application.
About professional ethics, I feel dissatisfaction finding
out that though the researches on heavy water production
and of tritium separation and detritiation of heavy water,
respectively, were started in our Institute, the National Institute for Research and Development for Cryogenic and
Isotopic Technologies, (ICSI), Râmnicu Vâlcea, assumed
integral paternity of these domains. To state precisely, I
wrote the first classified report, at that time, entitled Heavy
Water Production (Report IIS AG-1, March 11, 1971, 67
pages) and I delivered personally a great part of the documentation. In 1975 we elaborated and published the book
Deuterium and Heavy Water – A Selected Bibliography
(Elsevier, Holland). This book was the main source of documentation for later researches regarding production of
heavy water in Romania. Later, we delivered to ICSI many
books, works and reports regarding the tritium separation and detritiation of heavy water. Finally, I mention that
we also published the books Tritium Separation, (Dacia,
1987), awarded by Romanian Academy, and Tritium Isotope Separation (CRC Press, USA, 1993).
Finally, we should remember and eulogize the memory
of researchers who, for over a half century, dedicated an
important part of their lives to the development of the Institute and by this, to the progress of science in our country: Prof. Dr. Aurel Ionescu, Acad. Horia Hulubei, Prof. Dr.
Victor Mercea, Acad. Ioan Ursu, Dr. Eng. Marius Hăngănuţ,
Dr. Emilia Grecu, Eng. Alexandru Mihăilă, Dr. Alexandru
Ştefan Olaru, Dr. Arpad Szabo, Dr. Paul Syentgyörgyi, Eng.
Traian Fodor, Dr. Constantin Mirel, Dr. Costică Ungureanu,
Dr. Mircea Paşcalău, Dr. Ioan Deac, Phys. Nicoleta Marazan,
Phys. Tamara Ciobotaru and Phys. Flaviu Băliban.
From theoretical, constructive and experimental researches in the field of physics and technologies for isotope separation, separation of isotopes by thermal diffusion up to nuclear energy and environment physics,
you proposed many approaches and ways to describe
and solve, based on physical methods. What does the
process of production mean and which are the applications of stable isotopes?
The separation of stable isotopes represents one of the
important problems concerning the applications of nuclear
energy. As it is well known, the mass difference between
two or several isotopes of the same element, determines
essential modifications in its nuclear structure, which
causes a great diversity of nuclear properties. Thus, if
we consider more than one isotope of the same element,
a difference of one unit of mass (1 u. a. m.) is enough to
modify radically atomic characteristics. In the same time,
as peripheral electrons are the same, chemical properties
of these isotopes are practically identical, feature of fundamental importance in their applications as indicators. This
identity causes the separation of isotopes at large scale to
be one of the most difficult problems to be solved. The current separation technologies use both recent progresses of
fundamental physics and chemistry and those of modern
engineering.
Isotope separation technologies are many and various.
The selection of a separation method supposes a preliminary examination of a series of economical factors as: the

depinde, în ultimă instanţă, factorul de separare – parametrul de importanţă fundamentală pentru orice tehnologie;
clorură), a ureei, ureoformului marcat etc.
Geologiei Izotopice, Biofizicii etc.

used as raw material, of which depends, finally, the separation factor – a parameter of fundamental importance for
any technology; the diversity of volatile compounds; the
possibilities of isotopic exchange; the corrosive and toxic
character of the used substances; materials necessary for
the construction of a separation plant; economic aspect − of
great importance in this case: energy consumption, investment on product unit and operating expenses.
Concerning stable isotope applications, they are used in
different fields of science and technology (physics, chemistry, geology, medicine, biology, agriculture, nuclear energy,
a.s.o.) The interest of the Institute in this field was to introduce and enlarge the area of these applications.
An efficient application of the stable isotopes was found
especially in the field of agriculture and chemical sciences.
Even since 1964, the Institute was requested to accomplish
isotopic analyses, preceded by a chemical preparation of
the samples labeled with 15N, resulted from the experimentations performed within the Research Program coordinated by FAO-AIEA, concerning isotope applications to
observe the fertilizers’ efficiency. This continuous Research
Program has existed at international scale of over 20 years.
In this purpose, the Institute elaborated a technology for
chemical preparation of samples and a methodology for
isotope analysis by optical spectroscopy and mass spectrometry. The isotope 15N necessary for production of 15N
labeled compounds was produced in the separation plant
of the Institute. There, was established an installation for
the conversion of nitric acid in labeled ammonia, a plant for
production of ammonia salts (sulphate, nitride, chlorure),
of urea, labeled urea form), a.s.o.
The researches with 15N in agriculture were performed
in collaboration with different Research Agronomical Institutes from our country (especially Fundeni). Their objective was to establish the utilization profitability of nitrogen
fertilizers for different cultures. The institute maintained
collaboration relations with Medical-Pharmaceutical Institute from Cluj-Napoca, regarding the utilization of 15N labeled amino acids in biomedical processes. In this purpose,
in the Institute were produced 15N labeled amino acids and
was performed isotope analysis of biological samples.
Currently, in the Institute is maintained a permanent
interest concerning extension of labeled compounds with
stable isotopes. Thus, here were prepared deuterium organic solvents for applications in MNR measurements.
Also, at request, 15N, 6Li, 7Li, 10B labeled compounds were
prepared and offered, for researches, stable isotopes of
noble gases. Analytical experience of the research team
of the Institute, allowed to perform services, for the
identification of unknown compounds, determination
of different molecular structures, analysis of multi-component mixtures, a.s.o. Important collaborations were
established with the Petrochemical Institute, for chromatographic analyses, studies of catalysts, a.s.o., Drugs
Industry, for testing studies of drugs by MNR technique,
Geological Institutes, a.s.o. A great part of these collaborations was developed in long-term research programs,
such as those in the field of Isotope Geology, Biophysics,
a.s.o.
