Getting Through The Storm

1) Nanay Juaning Kabato is a 61-year-old woman from the indigenous Iraya tribe in Occidental Mindoro, whose tribe relies on agricultural activities for food and livelihood. However, their area is prone to typhoons that frequently damage crops. 2) In July 2018, Typhoon Josie devastated almost half of Nanay Juaning's crops. However, she resiliently replanted what seeds she could recover and her farms started prospering again within days. 3) In 2019, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), in partnership with other agencies, provided training and supplies to Nanay Juaning and 20 other tribe members to help them recover from
