o the following obviously depends on the person and the culture of
your country. I, for example, live in the Netherlands which is a very
open and tolerated country (Gay pride is pretty normal and such).
As a guy, I have noticed that getting straight to the point and being open
and vulnerable with people makes them respect you a lot. Yes, even in a
country that’s already pretty open toward each other.
Example: Sending a Message to a Girl I Used to Like
ere’s an example of me being open and vulnerable to a girl I used to
like many years ago (I translated it from Dutch to English):
Hey X, Lorenz here. Everything alright?
I just wanted to wish you a happy Christmas and a happy New Year, and a
couple more words haha.
I really admire how you have such great persistence for your passion, you
don’t see that very often. No, I truly believe that success is a matter of hard
and smart work rather than being lucky.

…By slowly developing things, you create more and more opportunities to
choose from. Most people tend to see this as luck when it is not. It is,
instead, the creation of luck:
“Luck is what happens when preparation meets opportunity.” ―Seneca the

I remember I went to a short entrepreneurship course. There, I met
someone who wanted to give me free personal coaching. Is this luck?
Partially, but I would never have had this opportunity if I didn’t went there
in the first place i.e. preparation meets opportunity.
Maybe a long message, but I have a couple more words to share with you
haha.
I thought you were a really attractive person especially your personality and
such. I just didn’t had the confidence to tell you that before. Why am I
saying this “all of a sudden”? Because I see the sharing of these words
nothing more than a challenge to grow my self-confidence.

4. I believe there are not many guys out there that have this confidence to put
themselves in a vulnerable position. And even if they do, they usually get
angry when rejected. I, however, don’t and I see this as the ultimate form of
confidence.
So yeah, have a nice life!

I mean, I literally didn’t message her for a year and then all of a sudden this
thoughtful message. Imagine the confidence that’s required!
No bullshitting around, testing the shallow waters, and slowly build things
up. I get straight to the point!
