Georgi Izmirliev Secondary School was founded in 1859 in Gorna Oryahovitsa by Ivan Nikolov Momchilov. Originally only for boys, older students would help teach younger ones. Momchilov introduced new subjects like grammar, Russian, and gymnastics. The school now has facilities like a pool for competitions, a new science lab, and multiple gyms for physical education. It also has language labs for practicing English and Spanish pronunciation.
