George Lucas was raised on a ranch in Modesto, California. His father owned a shop
selling desks and had three brothers. During his teens studied at Downey High School
and was a fan of auto racing, including planned to become a professional racing driver.
But he suffered a terrible accident with his car shortly after graduating from high school,
he was hospitalized for several days and nearly died. This accident definitely changed his
view of life. He decided to go to Modesto Junior College before enrolling in film school
