– Spatial
• the size of object that can be resolved and the most usual
measure is the pixel size.
– Spectral
• the parts of the electromagnetic spectrum that are measured.
– Temporal, or repeat cycle
• the frequency with which images are collected for the same
area.
– Radiometric
• how finely a system can represent or distinguish differences
of intensity, and is usually expressed as a number of levels or
a number of bits, for example 8 bits or 256 levels
