This document is a sermon about discipleship given at the 2021 Gospel Revival Christian Centre 47-Day Annual Online Conference. 2. Matthew 28:18-20
• Mat 28:18 And Jesus came and said to them, “All
authority in heaven and on earth has been given
to me.
• Mat 28:19 Go therefore and make disciples of
all nations, baptizing them in the name of the
Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
• Mat 28:20 teaching them to observe all that I
have commanded you. And behold, I am with you
always, to the end of the age.”

3. INTRODUCTION
• The Great Commission which is the series that
I have been greatly honoured to be a part of is
the mandate for the church
• Matthew 28:19 is the trigger for the church’s
call and command to “Make Disciples of Jesus
Christ for the Transformation of the World”
• Matthew 28:19 opens the gates of the
church’s ministry to the world – reached and
unreached.

4. THE DISCIPLESHIP MANDATE
WITHOUT BORDERS
• Organisations that have their mandate have a “sans-
frontier” tag: eg. Medecines Sans Frontier {Doctors
without Borders}
• Jesus commands the disciples to “Go therefore and
make disciples of all nations”
• Mark this, Christ does not specify any geographical
bounds to the mission of the early church – He says
“ALL NATIONS”
• Yet, we have become a generation that confines itself
and the ministry of Christ to those reached and not as
much ministry crossing that bounds to get to the
unreached.

5. What is a GENERATION 28:19?
1. Responses to the command of Jesus Christ
2. Understands the church’s mission as “missio-
dei” – the mission of God
3. Knows how to locate itself within that mission
and remaining accountable to God and not
create individual empires
4. Does not limit itself to physical church and
denominational boundaries but sees
5. Understands the KAIROS moment for world
evangelization

6. THE KAIROS MOMENT
• KAIROS – an “occasion, set or proper time...a
time of opportunity”
• We must never fall for the spirit of
procrastination - it is the thief of time.
• “ Do you not say, ‘There are yet four months,
then comes the harvest’? Look, I tell you, lift up
your eyes, and see that the fields are white for
harvest.” John 4:35
• The church has to be sensitive to the times as the
me of Issachar “who had understanding of the
times, to know what Israel ought to do”

7. DON’T MISS THE KAIROS
• Luk 19:43 For the days will come upon you, when
your enemies will set up a barricade around you and
surround you and hem you in on every side
• Luk 19:44 and tear you down to the ground, you and
your children within you. And they will not leave one
stone upon another in you, because you did not know
the time of your visitation.”
• Pro 10:5 He who gathers in summer is a prudent son,
but he who sleeps in harvest is a son who brings
shame.
• Jer 8:20 “The harvest is past, the summer is ended,
and we are not saved.”

8. CONCLUSION
• Isa 60:1 “Arise, shine, for your light has come,
and the glory of the LORD has risen upon you.”
• Take over the internet
• Take over the social media
• Remove the veil of denominational limitations
• Mat 28:19 Go therefore and make disciples of
all nations, baptizing them in the name of the
Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
