1. Get your university studies off to a perfect start with Franklin's
International Gateway Program!
Franklin University Switzerland’s International Gateway Program provides an intensive introduction to
English-language university studies for students from non-US education systems wishing to enter a
bachelor’s program at a university in the US or elsewhere in the world in Fall 2016.
The program starts in January of each year and ends in July. Gateway students follow an accelerated
study schedule covering academic and English language skills and comprising also introductory courses
in a number of subjects, in addition to one of Franklin’s signature Academic Travel courses.
The curriculum combines academic and personal skills courses, such as Academic Writing and Public
Speaking, with courses in English for Academic Purposes and introductory courses on specific subjects,
such as International Relations, Communications and Media, Economics, Business, International
Management, and more.
As part of the program, all Gateway students also follow one of Franklin’s signature Academic Travel™
courses – regular semester courses offered exclusively by Franklin that include a study tour of up to 2
weeks to different international destinations, the cost of which is included in the program fee.
Switzerland is known internationally for its safe and healthy environment and for its high quality of life.
Located right at the center of Europe, but at the same time sheltered from the chaos and the complexity
of European urban life, Switzerland offers the perfect environment for rigorous academic studies and a
healthy lifestyle.
Students who successfully complete the program at Franklin University Switzerland may earn up to 27
US university credits that may be used to gain advanced standing for admission to a Bachelor’s
program in a US university or elsewhere, and possibly also direct entry into the second year of
undergraduate studies in these universities. Gateway students who meet or exceed Franklin’s admission
criteria may also progress to the Bachelor of Arts program at Franklin University Switzerland.
Tuition for the International Gateway Program is 39,425 Swiss Francs. In a bid to further diversify
Franklin’s student body, scholarships of up to 25,000 Swiss Francs are available for Gateway Program
students from selected regions, including China.
