Achievements at Work:
The Gadget Store Pvt Ltd (Colombo) – Business Development Manager (Joined as BDM November
2009- April 2013)
Managing & maintaining relationship with all modes of clientele (Retail/Wholesale). Maintain price
competitiveness within the market leaders & be different. As We (TGS) represent only 2 products of our
own. Constant negotiation on pricing is done when local purchasing is carried out. Control over staff,
pricing, monthly sales & payment terms. We started online marketing and sales in 2009 with free delivery,
email campaigns and FB campaigns.
ESET Virus Guard – Platinum Business Partner
We started sales for retail purposes only. Digital House Pvt Ltd (distributor) is also an agent which
sells ESET boxes to dealer’s island wide. As such was the target to acquire high performing
computer retail stores in Colombo area so that we will have a strong hold on the distribution
channel in Colombo.
As a result we won highest sales for the last 3 years. We were awarded Platinum Partner on our 2nd
year of business with ESET.
By having to retail stores under our belt we were able to get the Sole Agent for ESET Virus Guard in
Colombo.
Anti-Virus protection solutions were provided for SME’s. Achieved highest sales on the first year for
that category as well.
Koss Headphones – Sole authorized distributor in Sri Lanka Gadget Store Pvt Ltd (since 2011)
Acquired a product which would distinguish us from the other computer stores.
Koss was established in 1958 and as the pioneer of headphones, they weren’t keen on the Asian
market, so we had to prove to them that we were capable of marketing the product.
We started with a challenge, $50,000 USDof sales in the first year, with no marketing support
from their end. We achieved 60% of the target by end of the year. Distributorship was given on a
yearly target of $30,000 USD. We created our own marketing campaign, printed our own posters
and leaflets.
Divoom Portable Speakers – Authorized distributor in Sri Lanka (2012)
We wanted a fast moving product that would bring cash flow to our company. Apparently SALA
Pvt Ltd had the distributorship for Divoom.
Divoom were keen on working with us with our previous track records that we had shown them.
Challenge was to outperform SALA Pvt Ltd, our target was set for 3 months.
We achieved the target in 2 months. Gadget Store received distributorship for the portable speaker
range. We
Products and services were enhanced to markets such as Maldives, Iran and Pakistan.
