This document describes the design of a laser microphone for photoacoustic signal detection. It consists of a laser transmitter that bounces a laser beam off a vibrating glass surface attached to a speaker inside a photoacoustic chamber. The displacement of the glass surface due to vibrations modulates the reflected laser beam, which is detected and amplified by a laser receiver circuit into an audible audio signal. The objective is to use this non-destructive method to detect photoacoustic signals from a distance using the laser microphone.
