“The project poses some fundamental questions for the development of a new generation of buildings: on the one hand, the need to build new buildings to promote the growth of the country, on the other hand the requirement to build so that identity culture and inno-vation merge to create a true modernity.
Invested in its institutional role, the building of the Post and Telecommunications Authority should give the example of this new approach, and any government should give focus on environmental and energy issues to indicate the road ahead.
We have designed the building as an icon where tradition and modernity mingle, both in shape (born from an acute arch proper to Mediterranean architecture and inclination of the solar diagram) only in the treatment of the surface of the hull.
In addition, the project draws its inspiration from the Algerian desert landscape where the dunes seem natural buildings, shaped by wind and sand. Form, energy and tradition transform into a new construction that will have to become an emblem of growth of Algeria.[…]In light of the data concerning the urban fabric, it appears that the position of the land on along a large artery of the city and especially the contiguity with the urban park of the district Bab Ezzouar, offer the possibility of making a building extremely visible and representative.”

"Promoting Green Building at the Age of Quality": This is the purpose of the 1st lnternational Sustainable Building Design Competition promoted by China Building Materials Academy . ln China, the development of green and sustainab le buildings is increasingly focused on the living environment, and improving empathetic relationships between man and nature in modern and digitai worlds.
SOS believes that economy, applicability and beauty should be the drivers to achieve near-zero carbon emission buildings.ln orderto achieve this, the choice of renewable energies, new materials and new technologies in accordance with the local climate are ali key facto rs for consideration when faced with creating a new green architectural proposai.
Th school aims to develop a model which is able to adapt and change throughout the duration of its lifespan. The proposal will also respond to the need for resilience in the tum ultuous climates of the future. lt has been driven by an accurate analysis of climate trends, and is based on deep research into innovative and sustainable building materials, the local cultura! environ ment, and the future of the workplace.
In addition to the proposal's environmental aspects, this project aims to consider employee wellbeing and workpla ce satisfaction. The workplace is constantly changing worldwide, and China is no exception. Despite a large proportion of the Chinese people reporting that they feel satisfied and engaged in their workplaces, contact with the natura! environment, movement within office spaces, connection with colleagues, and accessible areas for relaxation and focus, are alllacking. (Steelcase Global Report- Relation between Engagement and the Global Workplace, 2016).
In this proposai, meeting rooms and work places are supported by a constellat ion of open, flexible and multi-functional spaces which become the core of wel lbeing and productivity. Our proposai creates a hybrid environment, where meeting rooms and wo rk stations constitute only 30% of the masterplan. In contrast, 70% of the space is dedicated to breaking away trom one's station.
The final product is a synthesis of traditio n and technology, with its form shaped by the local environment and needs of the population.

DLF PARK, Analysis & Outreach Process
Following the quantitative and qualitative urban analysis, undertaken at the Bolognina district level, the urban project uses a tool that allows a focus on the DopoLaovoro Ferroviario area.
Part of this level of design comprises the development of specific analysis and research tools which have supported and worked as guidance during the design phase: Photo analysis of DLF park; Functional analysis of DLF park and Outreach. Process.
Community Spaces Mapping
The approach that has been followed since the first phase of our project has been driven to the definition of our final objectives for the realization of a space of opportunity within the Bolognina neighborhood in Bologna.
Every criticality has always been addressed considering it under its three fundamental perspectives: environment, society, and economy; this methodology has subsequently allowed to define the values to be researched and pursued in our research path. Once the main values have been defined, more objectives and specific targets have been identified.
The study of community spaces was conducted by analyzing several examples located in different parts of the world. In order to obtain the following document, several case studies have been selected on the basis of a three-level categorization divided into: Categories: identifies the type of space; Vocations: identifies the main vocations that can be found; Activities: identifies the types of held activities; Functions: identifies through what kind of functions the activities are applied.
In order to establish the relevance of the case studies to our final objectives, an ‘impact code’ was developed based on the three aspects on which our work was set: environment - society - economy.
RefleAction - Pollution 2018
The Proposed idea, RefleAction, wants to be a narrative path among ecology, art, and urban space that he/she takes form in the same place that has previously entertained her: Piazza Santo Stefano in Bologna.
Tambacounda Hospital Expansion , Senegal
The project is based on extensive research work, aiming at the development of solutions that are site-specific, practical and feasible.
To achieve such a solid background, MCA closely collaborated with the several professionals listed on the following page, together with their relative contribution and competences. Importantly, the project was also considered a valuable occasion to in-volve the students of SOS (MCA School of Sustainability), whose knowledge and ex-pertise were extremely relevant to the topic, through a highly interactive workshop. The whole process was directed and coordinated by Michele Olivieri (MCA), Giulio Desiderio (MCA) and MCA Research and Development Department (Irene Giglio, Valentina Porceddu and Valentina Torrente).
