2. FUKUSHIMA
The Fukushima nuclear disaster
was an energy accident at the
Fukushima I Nuclear Power
Plant (11 March 2011).
It was initiated by the tsunami.
3. CONSEQUENCES
It is the largest nuclear disaster since
the Chernobyl disaster of 1986.
Approximately 18,500 people died
due to the earthquake and tsunami.
The negative health effects produced
an increased risk of thyroid cancer
for girls, and an increased risk of
other cancers for children, and even
the mutations in animals still
present.
4. SOLUTIONS
Finally, Japan is starting to
dismantling the
Fukushima Nuclear
Plant.
Japan used a lot of money
to stop the release of
more radioactive
materials.
