What is Friction
Friction Is Defined As The Resistance
Offered By The Surfaces That Are In
Contact When They Move Past Each
Other.
Friction Example
Factors Affecting Friction
4
Friction is a force that is dependent on external factors.
Following are the two factors on
which friction depends:
I. On the nature of the two
surfaces that are in contact
II. On the force that is acting on
these surfaces
Causes of friction
5
When you keep in a
close view into a
smooth surface you will
find that there are some
pits, bumps, or any type
of criteria which give
rise to infections and
make things hard to
move.
Types of Friction
6
 Static Friction
 Sliding Friction
 Rolling Friction
 Fluid Friction
There are four types of friction and they are
classified as follows:
Static friction
7
Static friction is a force
that keeps an object at rest.
Static friction can be defined as
a force that resists the
movements of an object along
the path.
Rolling Friction
8
Rolling friction is
the force resisting
the motion when a
body roll on a
surface.
Fluid Friction
9
The friction which exists
between the different layers
or films of a liquid is known
as fluid friction.
Sliding Friction
10
We can define sliding
friction as the resistance
created by any two objects
when sliding against each
other is called sliding
friction
