This presentation provides information about the freshwater resources and biodiversity of Habiganj, Bangladesh. Habiganj has many types of freshwater bodies, including rivers, ponds, reservoirs, wetlands, lakes, and the largest haor region in Bangladesh. It is home to rich freshwater biodiversity, including various fish species, aquatic plants, invertebrates, and waterbirds. However, the biodiversity is threatened by issues like unplanned agriculture, overfishing, destruction of breeding grounds, deforestation, and sedimentation. Conservation efforts are needed such as restoration projects implemented by the government and NGOs.
