Elegant, joyful, agile, and capable of extraordinary effort,
the hummingbird that dresses the logo of French Tech Côte d’Azur
symbolizes the strength of this collective.
If the national rooster, proud and determined national symbol of France,
evokes teamwork, the hummingbird which accompanies it, azure blue,
carries the values of the Côte d’Azur.
Captivating in its agility, its capacity to react quickly,
and its capability for grand achievements through the use of collective strength,
this mythical bird symbolizes regeneration.
Attached to the beauty and the aesthetic of the places in which it lives,
it represents as well their elegance and joie de vivre.

INTRODUCTION
French Tech: A label rewarding an outstanding
digital industry to grow further on the Côte d'Azur
The Côte d’Azur digital
stakeholders have
mobilized and obtained
the “French Tech
Metropolis” label to
accelerate the growth of
tech champions in Côte
d'Azur and attract
further digital talents
into the region.
What is “La
French Tech? “
France is a country of talent,
of inventors. It is fortunate to
have creative and highly
educated entrepreneurs.
“La French Tech” refers to all
the people working for or
with French startups, in
France or abroad.
This ecosystem is made up of
entrepreneurs, obviously,
but also investors, engineers,
designers, developers,
associations, bloggers,
media, big companies, and
government agencies… All
the players who are working
towards startups’ growth
and international promotion.
The French Tech
initiative
Launched by the French
government, the French Tech
initiative aims at turning
France into a large
accelerator for startups. It
has triggered a collective
momentum and awarded the
“French Tech” label to a
small number of vibrant local
ecosystems where startups,
investors, and foreign talents
can easily find the necessary
ingredients to accelerate their
development. These are
outstanding metropolises and
international hubs where
further initiatives will help
successfulFrenchstartupsgrow
into international ‘tech
champions’, and attract foreign
startups as well as skilled digital
professionals.

THE AMBITION
of French Tech Côte d'Azur
Together, boosting the growth and
influence of the digital industry
The Côte d’Azur’s
digital community,
whose momentum has
been boosted and
reinforced by the
French Tech project,
has engaged itself in a
process of reflection
and has set in motion
essential initiatives to
ensure the
optimization of its
SME support
programs, the
organization of
appropriate work
spaces, and the
international
exposure of future
tech champions.
All together
The French Tech Côte
d’Azur initiative
accelerated and improved
the dialogue between
all of the actors of the
region’s digital chain.
Companies and entre-
preneurs have entered into
a dynamic, open dialogue
with the public actors on
the best strategy and
methods to implement in
order to support the
growth of the digital sector.
This dynamic permits
joining together in a regional
project to initiate a profound
evolution of the digital
sector, its concerns, and its
promises.
# 50 new startups eligible each year
for a three year acceleration process
# 10 new tech champions obtaining international influence within
10 years
# Promote an international community momentum
Accelerate the
growth of the
digital industry
The Côte d’Azur’s aims at
two strategic objectives:
# Balanceitsgrowth–whichup
to now has been largely
supported by the attraction
of MNCs - thanks to the
endogenous development of
companies that capitalize on
the existing ecosystem to
grow and project themselves
abroad.
# Support its technological
upgrade in the fields of
modeling and simulation of
complexsystemsandbigdata.
This requires precise
mapping of the regional
initiatives, resources, and
projects, as well as the
networking of actors and the
optimization of acceleration
programs, including in the
international realm.
Objectives
13
THE AMBITION

12 THE AMBITION of FrenchTech Côte d'Azur Together, boosting the growth and influence of the digital industry The Côte d’Azur’s digital community, whose momentum has been boosted and reinforced by the French Tech project, has engaged itself in a process of reflection and has set in motion essential initiatives to ensure the optimization of its SME support programs, the organization of appropriate work spaces, and the international exposure of future tech champions. All together The French Tech Côte d’Azur initiative accelerated and improved the dialogue between all of the actors of the region’s digital chain. Companies and entre- preneurs have entered into a dynamic, open dialogue with the public actors on the best strategy and methods to implement in order to support the growth of the digital sector. This dynamic permits joining together in a regional project to initiate a profound evolution of the digital sector, its concerns, and its promises. # 50 new startups eligible each year for a three year acceleration process # 10 new tech champions obtaining international influence within 10 years # Promote an international community momentum Accelerate the growth of the digital industry The Côte d’Azur’s aims at two strategic objectives: # Balanceitsgrowth–whichup to now has been largely supported by the attraction of MNCs - thanks to the endogenous development of companies that capitalize on the existing ecosystem to grow and project themselves abroad. # Support its technological upgrade in the fields of modeling and simulation of complexsystemsandbigdata. This requires precise mapping of the regional initiatives, resources, and projects, as well as the networking of actors and the optimization of acceleration programs, including in the international realm.
