Force is a push or pull that can change an object's state of rest, motion, speed, direction, or shape. There are two types of forces: contact forces, which are applied through contact between objects like muscular, frictional, and viscous forces, and non-contact forces, which act on objects without touching them, such as gravitational and magnetic forces. Force is calculated using Newton's Second Law, which states that force equals mass times acceleration and is measured in newtons.
