Treating Childhood Abuse
The number of incidents that Child Protective Services (CPS) investigates annually in the United States is over two million alleged incidents of child abuse, 18 percent of physical abuse, 650,000 are confirmed to be physical violence, and neglect or abuse claims 1500 lives of children each year, with 80 percent being children under the age of four. Psychological and somatic symptoms, as well as psychological and medical diagnosis, including depression, anxiety disorders, eating disorders, posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), chronic pain syndromes, chronic fatigue syndrome, and irritable bowel disorder, have been correlated with childhood violence.
From exposure to traumatic incidents in which they are victims of physical and sexual assault, domestic violence, motor vehicle accidents, serious medical disease, natural or human-created disasters, a large number of children and adolescents can experience PTSD (Sadock, Sadock, & Ruiz, 2017).
Assessing for Abuse
Identification and assessment of childhood abuse can be a complex process. It needs careful consideration of the situation involving alleged childhood abuse. A detailed interview is used in policies used to assess childhood abuse. In evaluating childhood violence evaluation, both physical examination and behavioral review should be assessed during the interview. A conducive environment should be created to enable the client to feel comfortable so as to be forthcoming with information. The client and the therapist should develop a good relationship. Prevention, early identification of violence with intervention restrict incidence, and avoid further development of trauma.
Trauma screening refers to a brief method, centered survey to evaluate if a person has undergone one or more traumatic events, has reactions to such events, has particular mental or behavioral health needs, and requires referral for a thorough trauma-informed mental health evaluation. Screening and screening questionnaires and clinical interviews are techniques that help in evaluating for violence. The questionnaires can help diagnose a high-risk parent or caregiver who can mistreat a child or teenager and can determine whether they are at risk of abuse, are sexually abused or have been abused in the past.
Media Exposure
Media visibility can be helpful, but it has several drawbacks as well. An advantage of the media is that it can serve as a place for people to interact and exchange thoughts about the risks of child violence and prevention. Social networking and the internet also encourage abuse-victim children to find resources to aid coping. Their emotional health will benefit fro.

ABSTRACT
Domestic violence is described as the willful physical assault, intimidation, sexual assault, battery and any other form of behavior which is abusive, as a part of control and power shown by one of the intimate partners against the other. Domestic violence includes sexual violence, emotional abuse, physical violence and psychological violence. Effects of domestic violence include death in very severe cases, psychological trauma and physical injury. According to Durfee & Messing (2012), in early stages relationships, it’s not easy to identify whether the person will turn out to be abusive or not. Violence intensifies as time goes by and it begins with behaviors that a person can dismiss or downplay and abusers apologize for their actions to convince the victims that they are doing these things out of love. While domestic violence has been increasing, options have been availed to protect the victims of domestic violence. This paper shall discuss some of the options for protecting family violence victims such as restraining orders, advocacy, shelter and creating awareness on domestic violence.
Ways of protecting family violence victims:
Restraining orders
Restraining orders are court orders given to prevent reoccurrence of abuse acts by the abuser. In order for a victim to acquire a restraining order, they must have had a close relationship with the person whom they want to be restrained from. The law defines a relationship as ‘close’ if the two people are married or formerly married, if they had been engaged or dating, if they have children together, if they are related either by married, adoption or blood or if they live with each other (Voris, 2015). A restraining order orders the abuser to be permanently removed from the residence and stay away from the victims home, work place and children’s school. Other locations would be determined in the order if necessary. It also restrains the abuser’s personal conduct. Further, it addresses the issues of child visitation and custody; if the two parties had children together.
There are different types of restriction orders. The emergency protection order is a short term order given by the police or magistrate granted to the victim when the abuser is arrested for violence. It is often limited for a period of three to seven days. The protection order is a long term order given by the police or magistrate to protect the victim for a longer period. It can be effective for a period of one to five years and sometimes, in rare instances, valid for a lifetime. Protection orders have varying provisions. These provisions can be, and not limited to, a no contact provision which prohibits the abuser form contacting the v.

Legal Considerations
I think when working in the field, it is important to understand that legalities will affect various areas of social work practice. For example, the legal system may come into play with social workers who are working in areas of “child welfare, domestic violence, crime victim counseling, adult protection, housing, immigrant services, youth services, and public policies” (Birkenmaier & Berg-Weger, 2018). Social workers should also be aware of the workings of the legal system, in order to “communicate and work successfully with judges and attorneys, recognize the rights afforded to clients by law, recognize certain problems of their clients as essentially legal problems or social policy problems, and minimize their legal risk in practice” (Birkenmaier & Berg-Weger, 2018). With my placement, I work with clients who have been involved with the courts whether it be clients who are in recovery, or with parent groups who have been involved in courts due to their children’s issues with truancy, etc. With that being said, I have to be aware of any legalities that may affect any of the clients during times. Some legal considerations I have to consider may come in terms of confidentiality or having consent for services before working with clients. Also, we have a very client-centered approach here at the agency; what the client says or wants is what we work with. I have to remember that and take that into consideration as well.
Potential Challenges
When working with clients, there’s always potential challenges involved when in practice. For one, it is important to consider that confidentiality may have to be broken in some cases. For example, when a client is considered a risk to themselves or someone around them, confidentiality is no longer possible. Also, a challenge can arise when a client is severely in need of services but refuses to sign the consent forms. That puts us in a dilemma because we know the client needs help, but legally we cannot provide them with services unless we have their consent.

Webinar #PSEA survivor-centered approach
A survivor-centered approach is key to ensure access to healthcare, psychosocial support, legal assistance, livelihood alternatives, safe shelter, and other potential life-saving services for those who've been sexually exploited and abused by aid workers, peacekeepers and others preying on vulnerable groups. In the decades since UN peacekeepers and UN civilian staff, NGOs and diplomats were found to sexually abuse and exploit local women and children in Cambodia (1991-1993) during UNTAC, too little has been done to provide services to the survivors.
Survivors need access to Post-exposure Preventive Kits within 72 hours of an assault. It is necessary for aid organisations to consult intensively with local women's associations, organisations for people with disabilities, LGBTIQ organisations and those representing other minorities and groups at risk, in order to develop safe, community based reporting mechanisms and map and vet assistance to survivors.

Treating Childhood Abuse
The number of incidents that Child Protective Services (CPS) investigates annually in the United States is over two million alleged incidents of child abuse, 18 percent of physical abuse, 650,000 are confirmed to be physical violence, and neglect or abuse claims 1500 lives of children each year, with 80 percent being children under the age of four. Psychological and somatic symptoms, as well as psychological and medical diagnosis, including depression, anxiety disorders, eating disorders, posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), chronic pain syndromes, chronic fatigue syndrome, and irritable bowel disorder, have been correlated with childhood violence.
From exposure to traumatic incidents in which they are victims of physical and sexual assault, domestic violence, motor vehicle accidents, serious medical disease, natural or human-created disasters, a large number of children and adolescents can experience PTSD (Sadock, Sadock, & Ruiz, 2017).
Assessing for Abuse
Identification and assessment of childhood abuse can be a complex process. It needs careful consideration of the situation involving alleged childhood abuse. A detailed interview is used in policies used to assess childhood abuse. In evaluating childhood violence evaluation, both physical examination and behavioral review should be assessed during the interview. A conducive environment should be created to enable the client to feel comfortable so as to be forthcoming with information. The client and the therapist should develop a good relationship. Prevention, early identification of violence with intervention restrict incidence, and avoid further development of trauma.
Trauma screening refers to a brief method, centered survey to evaluate if a person has undergone one or more traumatic events, has reactions to such events, has particular mental or behavioral health needs, and requires referral for a thorough trauma-informed mental health evaluation. Screening and screening questionnaires and clinical interviews are techniques that help in evaluating for violence. The questionnaires can help diagnose a high-risk parent or caregiver who can mistreat a child or teenager and can determine whether they are at risk of abuse, are sexually abused or have been abused in the past.
Media Exposure
Media visibility can be helpful, but it has several drawbacks as well. An advantage of the media is that it can serve as a place for people to interact and exchange thoughts about the risks of child violence and prevention. Social networking and the internet also encourage abuse-victim children to find resources to aid coping. Their emotional health will benefit fro.

Domestic violence is described as the willful physical assault, intimidation, sexual assault, battery and any other form of behavior which is abusive, as a part of control and power shown by one of the intimate partners against the other. Domestic violence includes sexual violence, emotional abuse, physical violence and psychological violence. Effects of domestic violence include death in very severe cases, psychological trauma and physical injury. According to Durfee & Messing (2012), in early stages relationships, it’s not easy to identify whether the person will turn out to be abusive or not. Violence intensifies as time goes by and it begins with behaviors that a person can dismiss or downplay and abusers apologize for their actions to convince the victims that they are doing these things out of love. While domestic violence has been increasing, options have been availed to protect the victims of domestic violence. This paper shall discuss some of the options for protecting family violence victims such as restraining orders, advocacy, shelter and creating awareness on domestic violence.
Ways of protecting family violence victims:
Restraining orders
Restraining orders are court orders given to prevent reoccurrence of abuse acts by the abuser. In order for a victim to acquire a restraining order, they must have had a close relationship with the person whom they want to be restrained from. The law defines a relationship as ‘close’ if the two people are married or formerly married, if they had been engaged or dating, if they have children together, if they are related either by married, adoption or blood or if they live with each other (Voris, 2015). A restraining order orders the abuser to be permanently removed from the residence and stay away from the victims home, work place and children’s school. Other locations would be determined in the order if necessary. It also restrains the abuser’s personal conduct. Further, it addresses the issues of child visitation and custody; if the two parties had children together.
There are different types of restriction orders. The emergency protection order is a short term order given by the police or magistrate granted to the victim when the abuser is arrested for violence. It is often limited for a period of three to seven days. The protection order is a long term order given by the police or magistrate to protect the victim for a longer period. It can be effective for a period of one to five years and sometimes, in rare instances, valid for a lifetime. Protection orders have varying provisions. These provisions can be, and not limited to, a no contact provision which prohibits the abuser form contacting the v.

Legal Considerations
I think when working in the field, it is important to understand that legalities will affect various areas of social work practice. For example, the legal system may come into play with social workers who are working in areas of “child welfare, domestic violence, crime victim counseling, adult protection, housing, immigrant services, youth services, and public policies” (Birkenmaier & Berg-Weger, 2018). Social workers should also be aware of the workings of the legal system, in order to “communicate and work successfully with judges and attorneys, recognize the rights afforded to clients by law, recognize certain problems of their clients as essentially legal problems or social policy problems, and minimize their legal risk in practice” (Birkenmaier & Berg-Weger, 2018). With my placement, I work with clients who have been involved with the courts whether it be clients who are in recovery, or with parent groups who have been involved in courts due to their children’s issues with truancy, etc. With that being said, I have to be aware of any legalities that may affect any of the clients during times. Some legal considerations I have to consider may come in terms of confidentiality or having consent for services before working with clients. Also, we have a very client-centered approach here at the agency; what the client says or wants is what we work with. I have to remember that and take that into consideration as well.
Potential Challenges
When working with clients, there’s always potential challenges involved when in practice. For one, it is important to consider that confidentiality may have to be broken in some cases. For example, when a client is considered a risk to themselves or someone around them, confidentiality is no longer possible. Also, a challenge can arise when a client is severely in need of services but refuses to sign the consent forms. That puts us in a dilemma because we know the client needs help, but legally we cannot provide them with services unless we have their consent.

Webinar #PSEA survivor-centered approach
A survivor-centered approach is key to ensure access to healthcare, psychosocial support, legal assistance, livelihood alternatives, safe shelter, and other potential life-saving services for those who've been sexually exploited and abused by aid workers, peacekeepers and others preying on vulnerable groups. In the decades since UN peacekeepers and UN civilian staff, NGOs and diplomats were found to sexually abuse and exploit local women and children in Cambodia (1991-1993) during UNTAC, too little has been done to provide services to the survivors.
Survivors need access to Post-exposure Preventive Kits within 72 hours of an assault. It is necessary for aid organisations to consult intensively with local women's associations, organisations for people with disabilities, LGBTIQ organisations and those representing other minorities and groups at risk, in order to develop safe, community based reporting mechanisms and map and vet assistance to survivors.

Cell Therapy Expansion and Challenges in Autoimmune Disease
There is increasing confidence that cell therapies will soon play a role in the treatment of autoimmune disorders, but the extent of this impact remains to be seen. Early readouts on autologous CAR-Ts in lupus are encouraging, but manufacturing and cost limitations are likely to restrict access to highly refractory patients. Allogeneic CAR-Ts have the potential to broaden access to earlier lines of treatment due to their inherent cost benefits, however they will need to demonstrate comparable or improved efficacy to established modalities.
In addition to infrastructure and capacity constraints, CAR-Ts face a very different risk-benefit dynamic in autoimmune compared to oncology, highlighting the need for tolerable therapies with low adverse event risk. CAR-NK and Treg-based therapies are also being developed in certain autoimmune disorders and may demonstrate favorable safety profiles. Several novel non-cell therapies such as bispecific antibodies, nanobodies, and RNAi drugs, may also offer future alternative competitive solutions with variable value propositions.
Widespread adoption of cell therapies will not only require strong efficacy and safety data, but also adapted pricing and access strategies. At oncology-based price points, CAR-Ts are unlikely to achieve broad market access in autoimmune disorders, with eligible patient populations that are potentially orders of magnitude greater than the number of currently addressable cancer patients. Developers have made strides towards reducing cell therapy COGS while improving manufacturing efficiency, but payors will inevitably restrict access until more sustainable pricing is achieved.
Despite these headwinds, industry leaders and investors remain confident that cell therapies are poised to address significant unmet need in patients suffering from autoimmune disorders. However, the extent of this impact on the treatment landscape remains to be seen, as the industry rapidly approaches an inflection point.
