Flatfield win SAP Award!
Flatfield have been awarded a prestigious bronze award for
the development of its “customer portal” which gives its
customers 24/7 online access to key customer and business
information. The portal development which was spearheaded
by Jeroen Verbeek, SAP specialist at Flatfield & Jeroen Van Eck,
the Flatfield process specialist, impressed the SAP team at
their annual SAP quality evening, culminating in Flatfield
being recognised for the simple and agile business solution,
that the Flatfield had put together as part of its customer
centric business process.
The Flatfield team used MxBlue for the development of the
customer portal. This integrator develops SAP applications on
the basis of low-code development platform Mendix.
Jeroen Verbeek, SAP Specialist at Flatfield: "We were looking
for a platform rather than a specific solution. When MxBlue
showed us the possibilities of Mendix to real-time link to SAP
Business One, we were impressed, and it was this close
integration that allowed us to forge the new customer portal,
culminating us in being recognised by SAP

Its almost that time of year!
It seems almost incomprehensible as we write that 2018 is
quickly drawing to a close. The year of the dog has been a
typically exciting and fast paced one for Flatfield, throwing up
new opportunities, presenting new areas for growth, as we
welcomed Flatfield Multiprint UK Limited into the Flatfield
family, and culminated with Flatfield being nominated for,
and being awarded a prestigious IT development award by
Global brand & IT partner SAP.
The unpredictability of our industry has been exemplified by
some of the unprecedented challenges thrown up by the
component allocation issues that have been prevalent
throughout 2018, and the need for businesses such as
Flatfield to continue to be fleet of foot and to be as innovative
and entrepreneurial as possible.
What hasn’t changed is that we are again entering the peak
manufacturing and logistics season as we head towards
Christmas and then on into 2019 towards the year of the pig.
PCB lead times will invariably start to increase as we head
further towards the end of 2018, and producer and logistics
prices may rise as capacity both in PCB manufacturing and
global airfreight become tight.
The good news is that Flatfield have been working hard with
its airfreight and sea freight providers and have pre booked
capacity on key air and sea routes, allowing us to mitigate the
challenges of rising logistics costs during these periods. As a
consequence we are able to offset some of the price increases
and offer customers the effective & optimised prices that
Flatfield has become known for.

we head toward the end of 2018, why not contact us!

Culture: A trip to
Budapest
The Flatfield team enjoyed a
cultural retreat to the UNESCO
certified wonders of Budapest
during early October. This
company wide excursion,
taking in the beautiful sights of
the Danube, was a nice
bookend to what has been a
continued to be a successful
year for Flatfield, and provided
a welcome break for the whole
of the team!
