2. Cascade -Siskiyou
National Monument
Day Program
Primarily serving 2nd
-6th
grade classes
Tuesday – Friday:
September 17 – October 4
9:15 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
Explore the immense biodiversity of colliding
bioregions on day trips to the Monument. Hike
sites include Green Springs Mountain Loop
Trail and Hobart Bluff.
Portable toilets and bus parking.
Costs: $25/class (up to 35
students; additional cost for
larger groups)
Deer Creek Center
Overnight Program
Primarily serving 4th
-6th
grade classes
Tuesday – Friday:
October 15 – November 1
The Deer Creek Center offers overnight trips
in the beautiful Illinois Valley. Students will
explore the site’s serpentine soils, Darlingtonia
fen, creek, and forests. The comforts of
restrooms, showers, yurts or camping options,
and a fully equipped outside cooking and
dining area are provided.
Costs: $100/night for 2 yurts + $3 night/
person + $75 instructional fee
Food for Thought: Classes
have the option of participating in
a local foods lesson and dinner for
an additional cost of $5/person. We
are supplying our meal from several
different local businesses this year.
It is possible that we will receive
donations reducing the cost.
Registration begins April 8th for returning teachers and
April 22nd for new teachers. Due to the small size of this
year’s graduate student cohort, we are offering limited
programs this fall. Please sign up early!
