Introduction to Indian Financial System ()Avanish Goel
The financial system of a country is an important tool for economic development of the country, as it helps in creation of wealth by linking savings with investments.
It facilitates the flow of funds form the households (savers) to business firms (investors) to aid in wealth creation and development of both the parties
US Economic Outlook - Being Decided - M Capital Group August 2021.pdfpchutichetpong
The U.S. economy is continuing its impressive recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic and not slowing down despite re-occurring bumps. The U.S. savings rate reached its highest ever recorded level at 34% in April 2020 and Americans seem ready to spend. The sectors that had been hurt the most by the pandemic specifically reduced consumer spending, like retail, leisure, hospitality, and travel, are now experiencing massive growth in revenue and job openings.
Could this growth lead to a “Roaring Twenties”? As quickly as the U.S. economy contracted, experiencing a 9.1% drop in economic output relative to the business cycle in Q2 2020, the largest in recorded history, it has rebounded beyond expectations. This surprising growth seems to be fueled by the U.S. government’s aggressive fiscal and monetary policies, and an increase in consumer spending as mobility restrictions are lifted. Unemployment rates between June 2020 and June 2021 decreased by 5.2%, while the demand for labor is increasing, coupled with increasing wages to incentivize Americans to rejoin the labor force. Schools and businesses are expected to fully reopen soon. In parallel, vaccination rates across the country and the world continue to rise, with full vaccination rates of 50% and 14.8% respectively.
However, it is not completely smooth sailing from here. According to M Capital Group, the main risks that threaten the continued growth of the U.S. economy are inflation, unsettled trade relations, and another wave of Covid-19 mutations that could shut down the world again. Have we learned from the past year of COVID-19 and adapted our economy accordingly?
“In order for the U.S. economy to continue growing, whether there is another wave or not, the U.S. needs to focus on diversifying supply chains, supporting business investment, and maintaining consumer spending,” says Grace Feeley, a research analyst at M Capital Group.
While the economic indicators are positive, the risks are coming closer to manifesting and threatening such growth. The new variants spreading throughout the world, Delta, Lambda, and Gamma, are vaccine-resistant and muddy the predictions made about the economy and health of the country. These variants bring back the feeling of uncertainty that has wreaked havoc not only on the stock market but the mindset of people around the world. MCG provides unique insight on how to mitigate these risks to possibly ensure a bright economic future.
The European Unemployment Puzzle: implications from population agingGRAPE
We study the link between the evolving age structure of the working population and unemployment. We build a large new Keynesian OLG model with a realistic age structure, labor market frictions, sticky prices, and aggregate shocks. Once calibrated to the European economy, we quantify the extent to which demographic changes over the last three decades have contributed to the decline of the unemployment rate. Our findings yield important implications for the future evolution of unemployment given the anticipated further aging of the working population in Europe. We also quantify the implications for optimal monetary policy: lowering inflation volatility becomes less costly in terms of GDP and unemployment volatility, which hints that optimal monetary policy may be more hawkish in an aging society. Finally, our results also propose a partial reversal of the European-US unemployment puzzle due to the fact that the share of young workers is expected to remain robust in the US.

Financial Assets: Debit vs Equity Securities.pptxWrito-Finance
financial assets represent claim for future benefit or cash. Financial assets are formed by establishing contracts between participants. These financial assets are used for collection of huge amounts of money for business purposes.
Two major Types: Debt Securities and Equity Securities.
Debt Securities are Also known as fixed-income securities or instruments. The type of assets is formed by establishing contracts between investor and issuer of the asset.
• The first type of Debit securities is BONDS. Bonds are issued by corporations and government (both local and national government).
• The second important type of Debit security is NOTES. Apart from similarities associated with notes and bonds, notes have shorter term maturity.
• The 3rd important type of Debit security is TRESURY BILLS. These securities have short-term ranging from three months, six months, and one year. Issuer of such securities are governments.
• Above discussed debit securities are mostly issued by governments and corporations. CERTIFICATE OF DEPOSITS CDs are issued by Banks and Financial Institutions. Risk factor associated with CDs gets reduced when issued by reputable institutions or Banks.
Following are the risk attached with debt securities: Credit risk, interest rate risk and currency risk
There are no fixed maturity dates in such securities, and asset’s value is determined by company’s performance. There are two major types of equity securities: common stock and preferred stock.
Common Stock: These are simple equity securities and bear no complexities which the preferred stock bears. Holders of such securities or instrument have the voting rights when it comes to select the company’s board of director or the business decisions to be made.
Preferred Stock: Preferred stocks are sometime referred to as hybrid securities, because it contains elements of both debit security and equity security. Preferred stock confers ownership rights to security holder that is why it is equity instrument
Equity securities as a whole is used for capital funding for companies. Companies have multiple expenses to cover. Potential growth of company is required in competitive market. So, these securities are used for capital generation, and then uses it for company’s growth.
Concluding remarks
Both are employed in business. Businesses are often established through debit securities, then what is the need for equity securities. Companies have to cover multiple expenses and expansion of business. They can also use equity instruments for repayment of debits. So, there are multiple uses for securities. As an investor, you need tools for analysis. Investment decisions are made by carefully analyzing the market. For better analysis of the stock market, investors often employ financial analysis of companies.
1. Fishing Grounds of the Gulf 1 10
Apparently there is no good reason that this should not be an all-the-12 months fishing ground,
nevertheless it seems never to be been to much in the winter. It furnishes, nevertheless, a very good
summer handline fishery for cod at dogfish time, and in the spring a few months it abounds in cod,
cusk, and hake, all fish of big size.
Roseway Bank. This bank is situated N. of your western component of La Have and SE. of
Shelbourne Light, Nova Scotia: 31 miles SSE. from the whistling buoy off Lockport, Nova Scotia, to
the southeastern advantage. It is oblong in shape and also of small extent--about 270 square
geographical miles. Its greatest length is 21 miles as well as its greatest breadth 15 mls. It stretches
from 43? 12' to 43? 33' north latitude, and from 64? 25' to 64? 52' western side longitude as well as
the north west corner is connected with the shore limit of 60 fathoms with a narrow neck area.
Depths are from 33 to 48 fathoms. The bottom is ofgravel and sand, and rocks; in the Northeast Top
the bottom is of yellow pea gravel and soil.
The force and direction of both are much relying on the winds, although currents in this region are
certainly not nearly so strong as about Cape Sable and Browns Bank, their general course being
WSW. and ENE the westerly much the stronger.
The principal minn kota elements taken allow me to sharehaddock and cod, and cusk, but hake,
pollock and halibut occur, the most effective fishing months getting from Could to October, when the
financial institution is resorted to by craft from western Nova Scotia. A number of New Britain craft
also fish here.
La Have Banking institution. Situated eastward of Browns S and Banking institution. and E. of
Roseway Bank. It extends from 42? 34' to 43? 26' north latitude a distance of 52 kilometers, and
from 63? 50' to 65? 07' western side longitude a distance of approximately 54 a long way. The bank
is nearly divided into two portions, that the eastern (La Have Bank correct) extends N and S. 39 a
long way and the traditional western portion almost E. and W. about 35 a long way. The total section
of the bank is approximately 1,200 miles.
The base is largely coarsegravel and pebbles, and rock and roll, with smaller areas of fine sand
distributed in some places. Depths operate from 40 to 50 fathoms. This is much influenced by the
force and course of the wind and is generally quite solid during easterly blows, while the general set
of the currents is to the westward.
The principal minn kota parts upon this bank before has been for haddock and cod: and while past
reports, (1881) speak of this as experiencing once been a favorite minn kota parts floor for halibut
and suggest that it was not at time of much importance for the reason that fishery, the figures for
this ground for the year 1923 show the halibut catch to have been third in volume and first in value
of the species used there. The truth is, the catch of halibut here can make quite an imposing shape
when the relatively small dimensions of the ground is regarded as.
Little La Have and also the La Have Ridges are just continuations with this back towards the
European Bank to get a distance of around 45 a long way. This places the eastern limit in about 62?
50' west longitude, the north and the southern part of boundaries becoming about as those of La
2. Have Lender. The section of the ridges is all about 1,575 miles. The bottom here is a succession of
ridges of gravel and pebbles with occasional areas of stones. Depths are from 53 to 80 fathoms. The
current, sometimes strong, is weaker on this page than further W. in the bank and, except
throughout easterly wind, is but little noticed. The general set up is westerly.
"The Ridges" says the report just before mentioned, "were for a variety of years one of the favorite
resort hotels for halibut catchers in the winter months, and many excellent catches of cod have been
taken at that year. At present but few halibut are found except within the deep normal water along
the southern edge of the floor, where they sometimes have been discovered quite plentiful during
practically the entire season." Obviously there has not been much improvement in these conditions
since the writer's time; minn kota parts are most often present in about the same quantities as in
former years.
A single piece of underside, having depths of 25 to 50 fathoms above red clay-based, lying roughly in
43? 08' to 43? 10' north latitude and about 81? to 83? west longitude, seems a great spring and early
summer season ground. Evidently red-clay base indicates a good halibut terrain, as this species is
usually current where this kind of bottom is located.
Hake are located in very good numbers from the deep drinking water about the sides of the soil and
even on the Ridges.
These waters are usually heavily fished from Canadian ports, and a fair quantity of American vessels
visit them each year, the majority of them hailing from Boston or Gloucester.
Scandinavian Bank. 18 miles SSW. from Shelbourne Light. Nova Scotia. It can be about 3 miles
extended in an E. and W. direction by about ? distance wide. In general, the bottom is level, with
depths from 50 to 70 fathoms; the shoal parts are difficult and distinct, the bottom on the deeper
servings being composed mostly of small black and discolored pebbles.
This can be a summer halibut ground (July and August) in depths from 45. Make your drinking water
the permanent address. A Person know that which in turn you want from the trolling motor. Minn
Kota can be a workhorse which dives to the thick associated with it and works right after ...to 60
fathoms, and halibut occur in October in the further waters about this. It is also a reasonable
summer cod ground, and cusk can be found in the deeply water about the edges during most of the
12 months. In months, species and general are generally as on Roseway.
Traditional western Bank. This is one of the most critical fishing grounds of the western Atlantic,
whether as regards dimension or the abundance of its product or service. It is placed S. of Cape
Breton Island as well as the eastern component of Nova Scotia between the parallels of 42? 44 and
55'? 46' north latitude as well as the meridians of 59? 04' and 62? 35' west longitude. It has a time
period of 156 a long way and a thickness, including the Middle Ground, of 76 mls. It is about 420 mls
E. ? S. from Boston to the southwestern edge, meaning about 48 hours' steaming for the otter-trawl
fleet.
The overall contour of your bank throughout the 65-fathom series, as set down on the Admiralty
chart, approaches considerably a very elongated ellipse, the more time axis jogging NE. by E. and
SW. by W.; but over a broad area to eastward of the center of the bank, soundings of less than 50
fathoms connect it directly using the Middle Floor, which we have now here contained in the some
bank. The total level of the lender thus outlined is about 7,000 sq . geographical miles. Off its
3. eastern finish lies Banquereau (the Quereau of the anglers) with The Gully between, plus a short
distance of the traditional western edge are the La Have Ridges.
The depths away from the southern fringe of the bank improve rapidly from 80 to700 and 1,200, and
in many cases 1,400 fathoms. In the eastern stop is Sable Island, [16] "graveyard of ships", aslim and
very long, crescent-shaped elevation seemingly minimizing in place each year, shaped entirely of
sand that has been blown Into innumerable hummocks and dunes. Away from both stops of the
tropical island are long and harmful beach sand bars. The size of the island is 20 mls; its best width
is approximately 1? a long way. It is said that this Northwest Light-weight has been shifted three
times simply because that the western end of the island has become literally blown away. It is in an
E. and W. direction, along with the depth water over the night clubs for a length of 7 to 10 miles out
does not exceed 2 fathoms, and even 10 miles even farther out the depths do not go beyond 10 to 11
fathoms. Within the past several years fishermen have reported the appearance of a yellow sand
shoal about 5 or 6 mls SE. in the Northeast Light. This is believed to appear at low normal water.
In general, the financial institution slopes S. and W. from the tropical island, depths which range
from 18 to 60 fathoms. The bottom is mostly sandy with patches of pebbles and pea gravel. Currents
are sometimes very strong about Sable Tropical island and are fairly irregular; obviously they are
very much influenced by the winds. In the other parts of the bank generally there is but little recent,
whatever there is usually tending toward the west.
Formerly the cod and halibut were the meal fishes most taken in this article, but with the changed
approaches in the fishery (as the expansion of the otter-trawl fleet) along with a changed flavor in
our open public the haddock catch is considered the second most significant minn kota repair in the
receipts of fish readily available waters. The halibut fishery stands thirdly in the collection. Other
bottom feeders occur in less numbers, the pollock and the cusk perhaps getting next as a way of
importance, with hake and a considerable amount of the various flatfishes in the otter trawls. These
latter are marketed as sole.
Mentioning the small amount of haddock from the fares taken from these waters in former years, the
writer asked several old-time anglers as to its abundance in the past. The answer was generally Oh
and yes, there are always haddock there; sometimes they worried us a lot." Then, noting my surprise
at so placing it, "You know, the haddock isn't much as being a salt sea food."
Less than valuable proportionately, though it will likely be noted that in 1923 the haddock catch on
this page was a very good second on the cod find in poundage. In the otter-trawl catch from this
ground it will be noted that the positions of the two species are reversed. Generally speaking, these
steamers certainly acquire more than 2 pounds of haddock to 1 of cod on other overseas grounds-
-possibly the result of operating in the shoaler waters and on the better bottom because of the
difficulty of dragging on the rocky and kelp-covered floor, which the cod seems to prefer. If it is so
desired, although the bottom about the Western Financial institution is of those nature with regards
to offer small obstruction for the passage in the net, in order that virtually all parts of it may be
fished by this approach; and this, included with the identified movements from the cod schools
makes it feasible at specific seasons of the season to catch a more substantial proportion of the
species.
Haddock are found regarding the bars at both finishes of the tropical island in March and from that
time to about June 1 in from 15 to 22 fathoms. They are also plentiful 18 kilometers W. through the
Northwest Light-weight at the exact same seasons and also at the same depths. DuringApr and May,
and June they come in close to the island in from 10 to 17 fathoms--even to 1 fathom. Through the
rest of the year (with the exception of the colder months, if they have moved away from into further
4. water) they may be found throughout the bank on sandy bottom in 28 to 30 fathoms, in which most
of the beam trawl minn kota parts is carried on.
There exists a good cod school each year on the comparatively level underside along the american
and southwestern edges of the terrain in 70 fathoms and more from Feb . 1 to May 1, and in most
years a certain amount of this varieties is taken on this area. In May this school seems to have
moved on to a piece of underside about 20 miles extended lying SW. from the Northwest Light and
achieving depths averaging 27 fathoms. With honest minn kota parts for cod on the Western Bank in
the course of most of the 12 months, they seem to be most abundant from the first of March to June.
The winter school in this article appears to be small compared to that on Georges, but apparently
this species trips this floor in substantial numbers through the spawning time of year. During winter
the cod are mainly discovered upon the western area of the bank, moving into the shoaler waters in
the direction of Sable Isle as the early spring advances (throughout March and April), the "Flex" of
your island and also the neighborhood from the bars in 2 to 4 fathoms, where they could be seen
utilizing the hook or can be "jigged." being favored grounds. The ground lying W. from the
Northwest on, about and Light the Northwest Bar (18 miles W, from the lighting), is a favorite cod
ground in Might and June. The shoal water on the rocky underside WNW from your Northwest
Gentle furnishes great cod minn kota parts from June 10 to July 1. This piece begins just outside of
the 3-mile expand of breakers running out of the land and extends offshore in a normally westerly
direction to 24 fathoms. A lot hand-lining is performed here.
From the shoal water, in Apr and May, the minn kota components seem to be feeding on the "lant,"
(Ammodytes americanus). It is said that the fish taken on the bottom close to the tropical isle are
smaller than those located farther western side. The shoal water from the northern shore of the isle
is said to possess good cod grounds and favorite locations for "dory fingers-coating." The cod
educational institutions seem to arrive on the Upper Peak (SE. from the Northeast Light 40 miles to
SE ? S. from identical point 28 miles) at the end of March and the first of April, relocating N. and W.
on the island. The cod of Sable Isle are said to be fine, business minn kota elements, perhaps due to
the abundance in the "reddish clams" (bank clams) on these grounds.
The cod and haddock fishery is carried on by American and Canadian sailing otter and vessels
trawlers, a lot more English and French vessels of the latter class engaging in the fishery of this soil
each year.
Halibut are located on the Western Banking institution virtually all the season at depths varying with
all the seasons. Being a halibut banking institution, this, with all the Gully and Quereau--the truth is,
all one particular piece of soil--ranks next only to the Grand Financial institution Itself. The very best
minn kota pieces here for halibut is found from January to October. There are several places on and
about the financial institution that the halibut seems to favor, as the Top of Pike, 85 miles W. by S.
through the Northwest Light of Sable Island; S. and SW. of Sable Island from 12 to 38 kilometers;
SW. 20 miles in 60 fathoms in May; thence out into 150 and 100 fathoms in June; in fact, using the
100--fathom curve down the edge of this bank, beyond the Northeast Peak (40 mls SE. from the
Northeast Light), into the Gully and around the Southern Prong of Quereau on the Middle Prong.
Apparently they leave this piece of bottom part in July. Where the normal water is so shoal that they
can be observed taking the lure or playing with the hook before taking, usually the fish are close to
the island early in the year. InApril and May, and June a good halibut ground is within 18 fathoms 24
mls WNW. from Sable Isle.
The Traditional western Bank is apparently a good serving ground for both cod and halibut because
it abounds in shellfish and crustaceans, as well as at certain time periods there are many small
species of seafood after it, such as the lant and herring, which these species and the haddock, also,
5. specially prey. Plenty of swordfish is taken here in August and September, mainly by American
vessels.
Banquereau. Separated from the Western Bank from the Gully, this has a very abnormal form--the
primary bank around rectangular, with a narrow westerly extension of comparatively typical form.
Its length, E. and W., is about 120 miles, its greatest width about 47 miles, and its particular total
region about 2,800 miles.
The key portion of the banking institution lies between 44? 04' and 45? 01' north latitude and 67? 59
and 10'? 00' western side longitude, and also the western prolongation lies involving 44? 44 and 24'?
42' north latitude and 69? 00' and 80? 05' western longitude. North of Banquereau lies Artimon,
distant 3 miles, and Misaine, faraway from 2 to 15 miles in accordance with the places from which
measurements are taken. The currents here are of diverse force, much influenced by the wind, in
order that several days of strong tides may be accompanied by intervals if you find little if any

About the eastern part of Quereau is an area of shoal ground referred to as Rocky Underside, having
a depth of about 18 fathoms; in other places depths run from 18 to 50 fathoms. There are actually
scattered areas of sand and pea gravel, even though in most cases the bottom is rocky.
Cod and halibut are the primary food fishes taken, hake and haddock and cusk being consumed in
small phone numbers. The Difficult Bottom, a shoal soil of 20 to 25 fathom depths on the eastern
part, was much resorted to by dory handliners in summer time. Occasional excellent fares are taken
in the direction of the western side, even though the cod are most plentiful in the eastern area of the
bank. The best cod angling about this bank originates from May until September, as soon as the
schools collect to feed with the lant, squid, crustaceans, and shellfish, then very abundant.
Halibut are found here all the calendar year off the sides in 100 to 400 fathoms. Some of these might
be minn kota components in migration northward, though apparently they are reproduction and
providing grounds with this species, in fact it is not strange for a university to remain for weeks as
well as months in a locality.
The primary halibut grounds are down the southern and eastern borders of your bank--the
Southwest Prong and the Southwest Cove (within 44? N. lat. and between 58? 30' and 58? 55' W.
long), the center Prong (44? 14' N. lat. and 58? W. long.), and the Eastern Slope (44? 28' to 45? 00'

support an incredibly rich expansion ofgorgonians and corals, sea anemones, etc. The Eastern Slope
has an abundance of bank clams in depths of 25 fathoms. These beds are perfect hand-line reasons
for cod. The halibut, too, feeds to a substantial extent on these reddish colored clams.
The Stone Fence off the eastern slope of Quereau is definitely a rocky part of ground packed with
"trees and shrubs" (corals) in 250 fathoms. This is a great halibut floor although it is almost
impossible to haul the gear yourself and the usage of the "gurdy" (a curler turned by way of a
fastened and crank to the dory's bow for winding the trawl) becomes necessary. Periodic fares of
halibut are taken about and on the Rocky Bottom part in 20 to 25 fathoms from July 1 to August 1.
The Gully. Here is the deep waterway between Banquereau and Sable Island or Western Lender. It
runs in an WNW. and an ESE. direction northern of Sable Island, switching somewhat suddenly S. at
its eastern end and continuing straight down between the eastern end of Western Financial
institution and the Southwest Prong of Banquereau. The full length is approximately 80 mls, the
greatest thickness about 20 miles. Depths range from 68 to 145 fathoms more than a bottom of
gravel, rocks and beach sand and soil. The difficult and gravelly portions form several ridges
separated by areas of finer materials, besides in the eastern section, where the intervals involving
are mostly paid by pebbles and sharp stones. Ocean currents are generally westerly, of different
strength, significantly affected by the easterly winds.
The Gully is a very crucial halibut floor. The halibut are not seen in great numbers all over the
ground, perhaps the best of the sportfishing getting on the rocky and gravelly ridges and slopes
included between the meridians of 69? and 80? western side longitude. This rocky bottom is
abundant in food, and the lant and herring are often plentiful in their year. In the spring the halibut
are most often especially numerous in the northern and northwestern parts of the bank, later, in
June and July, moving farther out. Some, are found in winter. It does not seem to be of regular event;
and apparently there are very little haddock in this article, probably because of the depth of your
water along with the nature of your bottom, while the cod is oftentimes found in The Gully in 60 to
90 fathoms.
Artimon Bank. Has a area of some 120 rectangular miles by using a bottom of gravel and rocksrocks
and depths of 38 to 50 fathoms. It is but hidden because of the inclination of the anglers to use the
greater grounds shut at hand. Cod are known to be present right here, however. The bank lies N. of
the eastern part of Quereau, separated from using it by a narrow, deep-water channel.
Misaine Banking institution. Lies N. of the european two-thirds of Quereau, at one location very
around, but in basic the banks are separated by some 20 miles of deep drinking water. Its greatest
length is 80 mls and its greatest width 40 miles. Depths are from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fishing
40 to 60 fathoms spanning a bottom shattered and rocky. A few halibut trips are landed from it in
most yrs, even though it is not of much significance as a sport fishing soil.
7. Canso Lender. A long, narrow extension of Misaine Banking institution, lying in an E, and W. path;
its size is 45 miles as well as its greatest size 13 mls, its region being about 425 sq . miles. Depths
range from 30 to 65 fathoms across a bottom of sand, with spots of gravel and pebbles. It is not of
much value as a minn kota parts terrain, especially as judged using it from the American fleet,
though far more fished by vessels from Nova Scotia; perhaps it really is overshadowed by the
presence of its larger American, Quereau and neighbors Banks, with which grounds it forms virtually
one particular piece of base, only thin, deep-water routes separating them. These larger grounds are
heavily fished each by American vessels and by those from Nova Scotia ports along with by French
and The english language otter trawlers.
The figures given right here and someplace else within this report are taken from the published
bulletins of the United States Bureau of Fisheries, and include simply the landings of vessels of 5
plenty net, or higher, at the plug-ins of Boston and Glouscester, Mass., and Portland, Me.
