108-year-old Harry Patch is one of the last surviving British veterans of World War 1. He recalls his experiences as a machine gunner in the trenches at Passchendaele in 1917, including witnessing many wounded soldiers and being haunted by the final words of a dying soldier. Harry endured two years of war before working as a plumber after the war. He now shares his memories with journalists to help future generations understand the horrors of war.
